The mod claims that there will be naval war and water base building.
In addition in terms of units there are clearly units from other C&Cs (C&C4 & Kane's Wrath).

asking this is like asking why carry any game over to any other engine wether it be command and conquer to starcraft or generals to red alert 3, you do it because it can be fun to not only make but to play on these newer versions. Sure you could go buy C&C 3, and sure it wont be to ugly of a game, but i'll bet money when this mod is done, they work they put into this mod will make it look tons better along with some neat new gameplay elements you will not see. Plus it doesnt cost 2.50 to play this mod, its freeeeeee

If I may suggest something:
Black Hand Flamethrower for t2 anti infantry/building trooper with garrison clearing and flame wall (like Generals Dragon Tank, only smaller) special ability.
Tiberium Trooper for t3 anti infantry/vehicle without garrison clearing, can heal cyborgs (wich ever ones you put in the mod from KW or C&C4) and Tiberium induction ability (it attacks a patch of Tiberium and makes it grow faster, incresing its value when harvested, like accelerating ore).

Thanks. The other part was just a way to differenciate both infantries so they dont do exactly the same thing.
