Replacement for the Soviet Sherman 76 for the upcoming 1.40 patch.
the driver was like "Come out you Jerry Bastards!"
I wonder why british call em Jerry all the time.. I mean that's more an american name.. I thought they were called krauts or Hans. And even that is a wrong statement. :D
I saw in a Docu lateley that the true Krauts are also Americans they eat that a lot more than germans do. :D But I guess that's normal since America is almost an entire continent. (The staates)
As for the tank great work. It looks really impressive.
Tom and Jerry?
Tommies wear brown - British
Jerries were grey - Germans
Maybe that's it? :P
Hahaha :D that must be it lol
Tom was the cat...
It's the Jerry = Germany thing.

Its because the german helmet looked alot like a chamber pot, which we call a jerry.
Americans have many uses for John, a Toliet, a Prostitutes customer, that'd be more fitting.
Cool! New soviet vehicles
It looks... dangerous.
looks out of proportion. Maybe it's just the angle.
@Panzert
It's not bigger than marder 3 i guess.
My weight is out of proportion.
This doesn't even make sense.
this thing looks huge compared to the CoH humans or is it the angle? i dont think SU-76 should be the size of a tiger... much smaller :p
@βéϯд
All the models that have visible crew have the same size, like marder 3. It's because humans models are giants XD.
so is CoH unrealisticly scaled?
@GriffinZ
It always has been like that :).
Coh soldiers are atleast 2m tall. So every vehicle with crew has to be scaled up to fit the crew in.
Humans models are giants??? Then this SU-76 its freaking HUGE!
@P3ACE753
lol... as huge as the Marder 3 i suppose (and it's badly oversized) :P.
lol, if the infantry is like 2 meters tall, the other possibility is that tanks are smaller
I always thought it was the other way around, becuase the vehicles in CoH is so much bigger then in other RTS games.
Don't know very clearly if infantry models are that big, but are bigger than normal. The problem is that trying to make "real" size models, we'll need to modify infantry models, let alone all the other models that use Marders parts.
The m18, the G-Wagen and similar models that use visible crew are oversized.
Here's a pic from Halftrack.
Wespe vs Marder III

Never noticed that. The marder III irl was only about 10cm taller than the wespe.
So why is the Su76 the unrealistic size of the MarderIII when we can clearly see that realistic size model can be made?
if i opened my front door, and found myself stareing down the barrel of THIS beast... bricks would be shat...
i believe it was the Normandy mod team that re-scaled all the infantry right? i love that mod even tho inf was made incredibly weak and other game elements a bit unbalanced i think it got the sizes\size of inf down pretty well.
i want one of those for going for beer :D
I have to say, the capabilities of this vehicle are greatly overestimated considering it's just essentially a Russian version of the marder 3.
is this a reward unit or part of the soviet vehicles without replacing another tank or tank destroyer for it?
The description says it'll replace teh Sherman 76mm that one of the doctrines gets. Since EF always used to be very insistent on not using any Lend-lease equipment for the Soviets, and the Sherman 76 is a bit OP for a early-game upgrade (even at 4CP), i hope it replaces it entirely.
@LethalDosage
Indeed, after the next update the sherman 76 won't be available on Eastern Front.
I dont get it. Again EF changes alot again. Introducing Sherman 76 than deleting it and replacing by SU 76, deleting SU-100, Introducing T34/76 tank riders, reworking alot of other stuff...
Will patch 1.4 be a balanced soviet faction after these changes?
I would rather wait for 1.4 patch, when i know that it will be a "complete" faction.
@GeneralCH
Since the sherman 76 was used, we said it was only a place holder, as now we have the intended model to be there, it's going to take it's place. Some day in the future the real soviet mortar will come as well and the old model will be discarded.
SU-100 wasn't needed at all, it was redundant. SU-85 can do the job without being upgraded to SU-100. Ofc, we are tweaking the former to reflect the absence of the latter.
I don't understand the last part, because Tank Riders have been in EF since 1.0.
About the tank riders:
it was the last patch that included two versions of tank riders. I think the t34/76 version is redundant, because you can skip the t34/85 upgrade and save those 150 mun if you choose armor doctrine.
@GeneralCH:
Both versions already existed before afaik. In the past after you upgrade to T-34/85 you would get Tank Riders with T-34/85 instead of T-34/76, iirc. Don't remember the patch where this changed but certainly this will be rolled back in 1.40.
the Su-76: We don't need american crap when we could use this!
Much better than Soviet Sherman! I like this idea much more... :))
This is Polish SU-76? Because he got white eagle on side.
