Eastern Front is a free mod for Company of Heroes. Following the ethos of mimicking a Relic Entertainment expansion pack, Eastern Front has succeeded in adding two full new factions, the Soviet Red Army and the German Ostheer, packed with unique and exciting units to the existing armies - a feat never before achieved in the Company of Heroes world.
This model is made for the campaigns, but we are thinking in a way to add it to Ostheer.

damn nice
Does the spotlight also grant an advantage for the allies surrounding it, or is it pureley astethic?
@Stubbornpony
Since I'm not in the team which handles the campaign, I don't know what effect has; about the MP component, we are still talking about it.
It cannot be aesthetic because it costs you resources to get it.
Would be cool if it could temporarly flash onto coming aircraft, so they can bomb or strafe for as long as the light is up. After 20 seconds the light maybe needs to recharge?
I don't get it, does the pilot need to be blinded by the light in order to be able to strafe/bomb? :P
Obviously it should just increase the accuracy of units shooting at the lightened unit (only makes sense on night maps tough); Or it can have a really big sight radius (but no true-sight in CoH1 so it will be unrealistic since in reality it should only see in a straight line where the light is pointing).
If the pilot is blinded by the light, it should prevent him from attacking
Really nice model but what will be his purpose in this game?
Will it be weird to use such a unit in daylight?
Maybe increase sight radius so the half-track can see further to allow enemy detection and early warning? And allows certain units to shoot long distance?
@willychong8921
It would be weird to use it in daylight but it would be weirder for the game mechanics if we would allow it only at night.
maybe you can give a special bonus for Anti-aircraft vehicles or emplacement like 90 % of effectiveness against aircraft...
Or maybe increase drastically the visual range...
It's an inferred light, not a search light, hence the blue tint
maybe it is an infrared searchlight like the one in coh 2. can see body heat and vehicle heat signatures in the fog of war
