Eastern Front is a free mod for Company of Heroes. Following the ethos of mimicking a Relic Entertainment expansion pack, Eastern Front has succeeded in adding two full new factions, the Soviet Red Army and the German Ostheer, packed with unique and exciting units to the existing armies - a feat never before achieved in the Company of Heroes world.
Soviets not only will have a couple of new emplacement models, but also a new revision of their weapons.

Now that's some true quality work. Are you going to have the M44 carbine later or just the M1891 long rifles?
About the weapons you mentioned in your description, are they going to have new firing sound, or the old one? I am curious because the SVT-40, DP-28, PPS and PPSh in the current EF are sharing the same firing sound.
@Timgao929
Sounds remain the same AFAIK.
@Timgai929
Btw, the long rifle is OK to be used through all the game ;).
Actually, what I meant was will you give M44 carbines to supportive troops such as engineers, mortar operators and ZIS gunners?
You plan on adding more distinct sounds to the Mosin?
Great work guys! But does this mean that PTRD and PTRS-41 models remain the same?
Yes, we don't have a replacement for that, yet.
@CadianConscript
We don't use PTRS-41, but PTRD-41 will remain the same. IMO the model is fine :).
Oh, for some reason I had it stuck in my head that the upgrade 'Man vs tanks' gives a second rifle and upgrades from bolt-action to the semi-auto variant.
My Gath...this is ... beutiful!
so when is 1.7.0.0 coming out?
If everything goes well -> this month.
I attempted to add the rifle pack from eli and then throw in the G41 and some other weapons to a mod of my own; I either came up with the missing-.rgm-cube-covering-every-in-game-entity bug or the game would crash when a match was started. How was the EF team able to get his stuff working?
