Eastern Front is a free mod for Company of Heroes. Following the ethos of mimicking a Relic Entertainment expansion pack, Eastern Front has succeeded in adding two full new factions, the Soviet Red Army and the German Ostheer, packed with unique and exciting units to the existing armies - a feat never before achieved in the Company of Heroes world.
It seems it is the first update for a while, so it is time to do it again. This vehicle is going to replace the Observer Team in the patch 2.0.0.0.
We felt than Soviets needed a light vehicle to fight against enemy snipers properly, we thought about the BA-64, but at the end we preferred this new unit. It used to have a DP-28 in the rear, however ours is equipped with the Maxim 1910 HMG.

You should check your facts before writing non-sense.
The lend & lease Ford GPA was produced from 1942 to 1943 in the US. However, when the production was stopped in US, the Soviets build themselves these units because they needed amphibious recon units due to the type of terrain they traversed.

Besides, I'm not sure why do you think than Maxim HMGs were wiped out in 1944, because as far as I know they used them even after WW2.
So, once again, please check your facts before attacking.

The SG-43 Goryunov was replacing the M1910 Maxim since 1943, however, that doesn't mean than by 1944 there wasn't a single Maxim in the field, they continued to be used but in few numbers I guess. Which means this unit is fine, let alone it is not a late game unit.

Maxim continued to be used until the end of the war, it's right. But I doubt, it's haven't used on mounted vehicles - I haven't seen nothing like this. Degtyaryov DShK or Degtyaryov DP more probable.
And BA-64 more common vehicle in Red Army.
I've seen photos of the Maxim M1910 in use in Berlin in 1945.

We would like to consider the BA-64, but right now we don't have a suitable model(and we won't be using the old one that is huge) :).
May be it could be added in a future update after Ostheer release. But so far, this would suffice :).
I have faith in you guys =) I watch DreamerBG regularly and I have to say you did great work so far. Can't wait for Ostheer!

They mounted maxims dp28s and sg43s on them aswell as used them in large numbers as transport. Initially the US gave 3500 plus of the GPA on lend lease. When no more were sent the Russians produced them under license as the GAz43, and made an additional 3000 plus between 43 and 46.It was replaced in 1946 by the GAZ46 which had a more streamlined hull and better suspension.
As for the bA64 I may reanimate it on more suitable anims and make it smaller. But I have way to much to do atm as it is.
