New units and characters for all the original races.

Installation Instructions:

1. Delete the codex folder and the code.module file in your Soulstorm directory.
2. Download both parts 1 and 2 of the Codex Base Code.
3. Extract both parts to your SS directory.
4. Download and extract Codex 3.5 to your Soulstorm directory.

5. Select “Dawn of War: Codex (3.5)” from the Game Manager.

There is a combiner module file for using in conjunction with the Tyranids (vs 0.51b) and the Black Templars (beta 5) mods included in the extracted folder,
but you will NEED these 2 great mods installed separately.

NOTE: The new races are not the same as other independently released versions, just to avoid confusion. These are the Codex versions, developed separately.

Hey everyone,

Just thought everyone deserved to know what's going on with the mod, since we've been rather quiet lately.

Unfortunately, about a month or two back, boothy had an accident, hence his inactiveness. Fortunately, he's made good recovery, and will return to work when ready. This should be relatively soon, but nothing is guaranteed.

Furthermore, deathwatch, our texturer, is having real life issues (the bane of modders). Therefore, we're unsure as to when he'll be back, but we doubt it will be any time soon.

Thanks very much of the continued suggestions (we'll get to work on them ASAP) and patience,

You have displeased the machine spirits very badly; there is no redemption; no respite.

Anyway, could you tell me exactly how you went through the installation process? I just tested it myself with Daemonhunters and Tyranids, and was having problems, until I realised I'd made some simple mistakes in terms of adding the mods to the .ini file. After that it worked fine. So, most likely you have made an easily made error, or there is a compatibility problem with Black Templars (I'll download it now and test).

Edit: Black Templars seem to work fine for me; PM me if you are still having problems and I'll take you through the process :)

I'm not on my PC right now so I can't check it again, but I installed the mods in the following order; Codex Base Parts 1 and 2 directly to the Soulstorm directory, followed by Codex 3.5.

Following this, I installed the Black Templar mod beta-5, then the Advanced AI 3.2. Then I installed the 0.5b2 version of the Tyranid mod, and the latest version of the Objective Points mod.

The only changes I made to .ini files was the codex_3_5 module file to which I placed this;
"RequiredMod.1 = codex_base
RequiredMod.2 = DXP2
RequiredMod.3 = W40k
RequiredMod.4 = dowai
RequiredMod.5 = objective_points_SS
RequiredMod.6 = Tyranids
RequiredMod.7 = BTMod"

First of all, you should install Advanced AI 3.2 before installing the Black Templars mod. Secondly, you don't require the Objective Points mod for anything, and I think it might even clash with the Advanced AI mod. Finally, you need "DPX2" and "W40K" at the bottom of the list, i.e. it should look like this:

RequiredMod.1 = Tyranids
RequiredMod.2 = BTmod
RequiredMod.3 = codex_base
RequiredMod.4 = DXP2
RequiredMod.5 = W40k

Hope this helps.

EDIT: My mistake, you do need the Objective Points mod. However, you do not need to include it (or the Advanced ai mod) in the Codex_3_5.module file.

Ah right. I'm going to uninstall and reinstall everything later on. Thanks for the help!

Okay, I installed the two base sections, 3.5, then the Advanced AI and Objective Points mods. After that I installed BT and Tyranids...and it's working! Thank you so much! I always used to enjoy Codex and now I'm glad to be able to add Tyranids to the mix.

One last question though; using that module/.ini method, can I add in other racial mods like say, the Vostroyans (Not one of choice but still one of the most prominent racial mods)?

you can add much more then just BT or Tyranids

That's OK, I'm glad it works!

You can indeed, as long as they don't affect the gameplay; I play with BT, Tyranids, Inquisition Daemohunters and Steel Legion. Just make sure that the W40K and DXP2 are at the bottom of the list when you add more. :)
