New units and characters for all the original races.


Installation Instructions:

1. Download both parts 1, 2, and 3 of the Codex Base Code.
2. Extract all 3 parts to your SS directory (see tutorial - Moddb.com).
3. Download and extract Codex 3.6 to your Soulstorm directory.

4. Select “Dawn of War: Codex (3.6)” from the Game Manager.

There is a combiner module file for using in conjunction with the Tyranids (vs 0.51b) and the Black Templars (beta 5) mods included in the extracted folder,
but you will NEED these 2 great mods installed separately.

NOTE: The new races are not the same as other independently released versions, just to avoid confusion. These are the Codex versions, developed separately.

OK, so 3.6(beta) is out........
It was a bit of a rush job, with most of the changes done over the last week, but they seemed to all work OK, so just drop me a message if anythings wrong (except descriptions :) )

A few things to note though:

"Allow Allies" needs to be activated to get the allies buildings in the advanced build menu.

"Allow Titans" is gone as a win condition.

"Escalation" allows titans, and bumps the pop cap up 50%.

"Apocalypse" allows titans, and bumps the pop cap up 100%.

(Don't use the 2 together - you'll get a SCAR error)

I don't know what's next, there's a massive list (well, there isn't actually, but a lot of ideas).No new full races though for now, the current lot still need work, and it takes to long to build a race for my free time at present.

New Allies though - defo!

Anyway, I hope the downloads work OK, get annoying when they get screwed up..........

Whenever me and my friend try to play this mod, he gets instantly kicked from the game. We're both using the tyranids + Black Templars merge and have all the latest versions. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is this mod even compatible with multiplayer? Thanks.

yes, it's the new tyranids build. It's got multi-sync error issues in it. We can only control codex on it's own.
Drop tryanids and BT, see what you get then.

Codex is compatible with multiplayer, providing you both have exactly the same version/mods. The problem may be that you have the latest version of the Tyranid mod, which doesn't seem to be compatible with Codex.

Skirmish AI 3.2 is included in the mod and used as the framework for the new races AI and the changes to the existing.
So, yeah, but already in there.

The enemy AI seems to have an unfair advantage over resource generation, since they most often show up in a raid with WAY more units than expected. I have resource generation set to High BTW.

Hard. But when I set it to standard, It just ends up as a turkey shoot. And furthermore, the AI doesn't use kiting tactics all that well; even on that difficulty.

I've certainly had a look through some of his stuff, but I'll check out the Tau stuff again ;)
Sorry dude, 1 super-heavy per race. Trying to stick closely to the existing gameplay, and you've got UA for the no limit massed armies gameplay, that's their thing :)
Ordos is the Games Workshop name, so I'm keeping out of that on dude :)

I would like also to suggest you to replace the Scorpion Super Heavy with that one of FoK/Pok that is quite (a lot) better, and a gameplay suggestion if you don't want to push on massive battle you could "push" on secondary effect of weaponary like slowing down enemy under suppression fire or double damage on covered troops by flamer and granade and again completly stop enemy under artillery barrage, but maybe this affect compatibility with other mod..
Ok then, can't wait for new Dark Angels ;)

IF we can find one which we can borrow, then maybe, but we would need a modelled in order to create our own.

@IAMULKAIR, everything is ok, it sounds like you may have installed it incorrectly. Do you have parts 1 and 2 and 3.4? Did you delete any previous Codex files/folders?
