New units and characters for all the original races.


Installation Instructions:

1. Download both parts 1, 2, and 3 of the Codex Base Code.
2. Extract all 3 parts to your SS directory (see tutorial - Moddb.com).
3. Download and extract Codex 3.7 to your Soulstorm directory.
4. Select “Dawn of War: Codex (3.7)” from the Game Manager.

There is a combiner module file for using in conjunction with the Tyranids (vs 0.51b) and the Black Templars (beta 5) mods included in the extracted folder,
but you will NEED these 2 great mods installed separately.


NOTE: The new races are not the same as other independently released versions, just to avoid confusion. These are the Codex versions, developed separately.

So 3.7 if now officially released, adding Harlequin allies to both the Eldar and the Dark Eldar.

So, it's a good time to thank fuggles2k and the original Dance Macabre team for their work, and if it peeks your interest, you can try the full race mod here:

Next, 3.8, and the stupid blue squids (Sorry, Tau) get a little attention, Ad Mech get some allies, and some other gumf................

It sounds like you're not setting the locations right. If you want to have a gap, close some spaces during game setup and add your enemies further down the player list.

No problem. I'm afraid there's no way to choose your own position, just the computer's. You could, however, change your allies' starting positions so they're either side of you (although the map would have to have circular starting positions).

what we know from the codex:
-the necrons are like tyrannids,they will never team up with another races (mostly the chaos :the C'tans are chaos gods enemies)
-imperial armies can easily mix with one another,
-eldar usually team up or use any race except evil ones (chaos,necrons,tyrannids...)
-Tau are same as eldar (but in more open way as far as you dont threatens the greater good)
-Do the orks even understand the concept of allies or diplomaty ? thus any desperate alliance with them will instantly break once the common threat is gone.
-all the chaos factions can merge depending on the factions grudges and gods allegeance
-dark eldars are treacherous and only respect their kind(eldars,exodites),since they share the same fear of chaos gods with eldars -especially slanesh- i dont see them teaming
with any chaos factions.

To clarify one point, Allies will always be an option. Same as Titans, or any other conditions, it's about choice!!
No-one else has tried something like this, so optional, but different!
I agree with most of the points, with a couple of exceptions:
Necrons will do whatever to increase the power of their Dynasties, war, negotiations, temporary alliances (new Codex fluff, please no Mat Ward hating)
Orks will ally with Humans if Blood Axes, common fluff.
Dark Eldar, defo not daemons of any kind, but can site examples of temporary allegiances with human raiders, orc slave forces blah blah.
There's some new fluff coming from GW explaining the Tau Marines pairing, probably with the next Tau Codex.....

I admit i am bit outdated concerning new editions so i better have to give up and update.
more of that, Allies is a great unique option of yours (enriching gameplay) and fully profit of all that the mod have to offer is the aim here,
so we may not just ignore when something seem to be tweak or incoherent.

Except for the DA problem, I think all the others are accounted for. Personally, i've never been a big fan of Eldar/Dark Eldar teaming up, though...
