Coda UDK Beta 1.2
Apr 11, 2010 Full Version 6 commentsCoda is now its own standalone game! There’s no need to even have UT3 installed to play!
Coda is a modification of Unreal Tournament 3 which focuses on thoughtful, unforgiving, competitive, fast paced and stylish gameplay. It will provide several interesting systems which players will have to use in harmony in order to defeat their opponents. Initially the mod will focus around an original sword fighting system based on mouse movements. Next magic and psionic energy systems will be implemented, and tightly integrated into the sword fighting gameplay. Coda will feature a player control system which borrows mechanics from fighting games such as Guilty Gear. Several maps and completely original characters are planned. Stay tuned for frequent updates, this mod is currently under rapid development.

Humm, I haven`t tried the demo yet, but this reminds me a lot of the Jedi Knight games, wich is good but, are you(And this is directed to the team) going to have a more console/ack 'n' slash control style in the final version of the game or are you going to make it similiar to jedi knight(in the final version)? The Art style looks very good btw ;) .
Keep working on it.
An unreal tournament game with no bot support?? Seriously?
and the textures never load :(
Currently the game is multiplayer only but there are bots. You can play against the bots by starting a listen server and choosing the number of bots you want to play against from the menu.
I haven't heard of a no texture loading problem before but it might be a bug. Does the game not load map textures or is it textures for characters and swords? Let me know and hopefully I can help you solve that problem.
with me The textures of the players don't load,
making the game unplayable
I run at an ATI 4850 c2d 3 GHZ and 2gb ram
this sucks As I find your videos to be awesome
Couldn't this game have different sword styles? Like dual to 2H to single sword + or - sheild? And possibly old time guns with bayonets? :p Looks great ill give it a try once i finish d/l and install.
Yeah that is totally possible. Different sword styles is something we definitely want to explore in future releases. I would really like to see 2H, dual swords, and maybe even pole weapons. If you want you can swing by our forums at Codamod.com and we would really like to hear any ideas you have about different weapon types.
any one know why i can't find any games at all
Our community is still pretty small so the servers sometimes don't have other players on them. I've been tricked a couple of times by the "Show Empty Servers" checkbox in the search menu not being checked and as a result, no servers show up. Also, if a server is on "Team Deatchmatch" it won't show up until you select that gametype and refresh the server list. You can find some servers we setup at Codamod.com . Denrei and I usually try to play around 8pm CST but we can be found on the servers at random times as well. Let me know if you have any more problems.
This is great, downloading now
I've seen some other people have this problem. Most of the time it is because UT3 hasn't been patched to the latest version. Make sure you download and install UT3 patch 2.1. It can be found at Fileplanet.com . After upgrading UT3 try launching Coda again through the Coda Beta shortcut the installer created in your Windows Start Menu or on your Desktop. Let me know if you still have problems.
