What would happen, if in 1988, Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev was assassinated?

CNC Fallout is a total conversion mod for Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars that postulates this very question.

Upon completion, CNC Fallout will replace all elements in C&C3, introducing three unique factions: NATO (comprising of the US and Western European States), The Soviet Union and Australia.

Fallout's features will include:

- Ultra fast-paced "pick-up and play" gameplay

- 61 new units - Combine modern weapons systems such as M1A2 Abrams Tanks, Paladin Artillery, Humvees and Russian T-90 Tanks with futuristic and high tech units including Plasma Assualt Craft, Negotiator Cannons and the giant Liberty Assault Walker!

- Experiment with and utilise new and exotic weapons technology, including Metal-Storm Guns, Antimatter Weaponry and Plasma Technology.

- Real life locales - Fight in New York City, Washington DC, London, Paris, Moscow, Sydney and more!

- Breathtaking superweapons - Obliterate your enemies with a range of massively powerful superweapons, including Antimatter Cannons, Nuclear Weapons, Cluster Missiles, Plasma Pulse Cannons, Daisy-Cutter Bombs and more!

- All new Intense soundtrack

Visit the official CNC Fallout website to check out the latest ingame screenshots, get the lowdown on the three factions, and read the chilling chain of events that lead up to the scenario posed in CNC Fallout.

I look forward to keeping you updated as I progress with this mod!

Will the damage system introduced in C&C3 (tanks and buildings are very resistent to low-caliber bullets fired by riflemen) be used in the mod?

A few comments:
1. Are you going to post an update soon.
2. Are you still planning to release the mod this year.

3. Please don't get this comment wrong.

The Australian and Soviet sides are well designed: their units fit their style well (Soviets = brute force and heavy industry, Australia =
elite infantry and excellent artillery, but weak armor)

In my opinion however, the conventional units of NATO (mainly the vehicles) are not original and just don't suit a high-tech, international military alliance with walkers and plasma tech. The side would greatly benefit from making the conventional units more futristic and/or more European (by mixing existing weapon designs from differnt nations).

1. Yes - there have been some issues that have resulted in work on the mod stalling, but we are back on track now.
2. Yes - the plan is for it to be released at the end of this year.
3. Nothing is really changing from the plan for any of the factions as it is currently.
