Could you explain this further? I honestly can't tell the difference. And I know you're not after being as close to GZDoom as possible, so I won't expect all that jazz. But still
Just look the previous for comparison.
But in general it makes levels of light affect the player too and making light slightly darker in order to give a better atmospheric feel, plus the light doesn't go brighter near the player plus in dark rooms partial invisibility feels like full invisibility.
And still is your choice if you want that type of lighting or not.
