Their icon, description and general loyalty to the Witch King suggests that Angamarim are supposed to be part of the Dark Men faction, like Haradrim and true Black Numenoreans.

However, despite everything, their icon notwithstanding, they are listed as Edain. As a result, trying to play as the Witch King ends up in Angmarim being purged out of Angmar and their provinces converted into... orcs?

I don't think this is supposed to happen, as that's decidedly not true, both because Angmarim's flavour text all indicate the other faction, and the general big role of men in Angmar's armies. Heck, I'd argue that there should be men of Carn Dum instead of yet another random orcs group in the capital province.

A bit offtopic, but related, is there any possibility to remove Wilderness as a Wight Witch-King? I tried claiming them through title fabrication then giving them to an orcish vassal, but I don't see much conversion going on.

So, I looked at the files and moved the Angmarim to Men of Darkness religion group myself. Witch King has indeed stopped purging it!

Can Dunland and Rhudaur be moved to Men of Darkness religions of their own? Haldadian still gets purged, so I had to quickly console-convert Rhudaur provinces into Angmarim (as their Hillmen rulers ARE all of Angmarim "religion").

Perhaps give some choice regarding the purge event? Do, or not do, settle orcs or black numenoreans, and so on.
