City Rebellion is an episodic mod intended to have the player take on the role of one of the citizens of a city dominated by the Combine.

Chapter 1: The player plays as an unnamed character who is assigned the task of operating an observation outpost in an abandoned warehouse. The level picks up just as the player is messaged by a character named "CHandler", alerting them that the outpost has been discovered, and a Combine raid is minutes away.

Chapter 2: The player, having escaped the Combine raid heads over to the underground rebel base until the Combine manages to find the base and attacks again.

The first two of five chapters have been released. Work has begun on chapter three.

*NOTE: While the first release (Chapter 1 aka Version 1) is still available for download, Release 2 contains both the first and second chapters. Thus, only Release 2 is required if you want to play both.

My original target for release was the 2nd week of September. However, due to work, I'm not able to spend as many hours a week as I was spending in the early summer.

Don't worry though, I am still making good progress and I expect it to be done soon. Stay tuned!

They were using it as a coffee table actually. Sometimes you just make due with what's available! *wink*

I'll be posting a screenshot or two of the new map sometime soon, it's already the best by far.

I am making strives to improve the quality of the audio for the next chapter. The man's voice were recorded with a crappy mic, and I'm exploring ways to improve it.

As for the questions about the bodies... I'll say the lack of corpses were on purpose, and will be explained as the story progresses.

Okay so I finished chapter 2, nevermind on the whole wire thing. I really liked it, but there were a few things I didn't like. The lack of bodies at the rebel base for instance. a few dead combine and rebels would really sell the feeling that there was a huge fight here. Also, that guy at the very end of chapter 2 sounded more like he was on a speaker then the guy at the beggining of chapter 2.

What the hell do you have to do with the wire at the beggining of chapter 2? Can't find a way out of that tiny room. Also, that guy sounded like he was bored when he mentioned that the Combine were attacking, and it didn't sound like he was talking through the speakers at all. Also, why exactly was your guy defended the warehouse? You should removed some of the more useless items (like the bathtub) and replace it with crates of ammo and stuff like that. Other then that, it was pretty cool, I love the chance to play as rebels, and I can't wait for the rest of the chapters.

The 2nd release does contain the first chapter as well. The 2nd is all you need to play. Also, once installed, you can begin from either chapter 1 or jump right into chapter 2 from "New Game" menu.

To 1camslam1: Can you please elaborate or send me a private message? There was a fair amount of play testing, but something could have always made it through, if so I want to get it fixed. Thanks
