City 7: Toronto Conflict, is an action packed Half-Life 2 mod with a variety of unique levels and game play. Explore what has become of City 7 in areas like Dundas square, Eaton Center , Mel Lastman square, St. Michael's Hospital and TTC system under the Combine rule. This version features Gordon Freeman as the main character, stuck in Toronto due to a teleporting accident in Kleiner's lab. Try to escape this war torn city by finding any type of teleporting technology and send him back to City 17.
Despite our small development team and short production time, we managed to get halfway to the CN tower and have already created 2-3 hours of fun and action packed game play! We want to finish this mod the way it was intended it to be, as a glimpse at what happen to a part of North American during the Combine invasion.
It is believed that the Combine have created multiple citadels around the globe and human communication in the Americas has been cut off for years. However, Dr. Kleiner has just established communication with an old collegue residing in Toronto, Canada, now known as City 7. These communications lead to questions... What have the combine done with the CN tower? (a communication tower in core of Toronto) Was it destroyed or rebuilt? Did the CN tower serve a purpose during the alien invasion? Is there a rebel force in Toronto, and who will lead them?
If you would like to apply to be a part of our development team, then please check -The Future- link section of our site.

Pretty bad mod. The constant predictable "get near a corner then combine will rush round it in a group" situation really made me fed up with this mod.
There's also a lack of focus in a lot of the maps, they're too busy. Maybe because you tried to base them around real streets, which is never a very good idea.
The subway train seemed odd to me. I don't get why I had to make my way through it. I would have been quite happy to just get off when it reached a station.
Voice acting for the citizens was pretty good. Combine voices were awful though.
Tedious amounts of enemies. Never made me feel clever for killing them in a creative way, as they just swarm at you and there's not much in the way of physics stuff to use against them. You dont get the time either, as most Combine were in a group of at least 4.
I liked the puzzle to turn off the combine forcefield in the street and the use of a Combine mask / suit to fit in with them. Although just super gravity gunning them to death was much more fun.
Serious crash error when you use the super gravity gun on the Stalkers that work at the consoles. You should probably fix it or remove them if you're going to do another release, as both primary and secondary attack cause errors/crashes with that model.
Every enemy attack felt scripted. Every time there's something to climb you know a group of combine will rush out onto a ledge somewhere and attack you.
End boss was god awful. The swarms of enemies on the ground should be removed, just have one set come from each entrance. You should be rewarded for killing them, not constantly punished even if you do get rid of them to begin with.
4/10. Would have written you a more detailed review, but they're not on :P
VERY GOOD!
I'm a Toronto resident and have been all my life and - what can I say - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for making this mod and continuing to work on it! If only I were well-versed in Source I would most definitely help you. However, I need to finish a mod project for a certain older game before I take my leap to Source.
Hello everyone. My name is Roozbeh I am the level designer for the TTC station. Bellow you will find some spoilers and comments about the issues and concerns you were having.
In the first level you have to listen to the citizens for clues, they will tell you that the stage is in poor maintenance. You will then have to climb to the top of it (by using the stairs behind it) pick up the crowbar and break the wood holding the stage. The combine elite will leave his post and you can run by from behind the "pool" area. (btw that pool is suppose to be shallow water, although it may seem deep but its not, so the comment about the guy floating hes actualy not lol) You can pick up the weapons on the combine station and run from under the balcony (so that the combine camera doesnt see you). Go all the way to the end and press the button to turn off the shield that blocks you from getting into the TTC station. Run back and go up the stairs and pick the the gravity gun and run straight into the TTC North York Station.
The end level is not impossible. There are 3-4 pillars that have ladders on them, you can climb them and on the top of them there are Anti Air guns. You have 2 choices, one is to camp it up there for the helicopter to come in range again (occasionaly going down and grabing some health kits) or you can quickly run to the other end and climb the other AA tower so that you can have the helicopter in range again from the other side. Doing this you will easily finish the last boss level.
Enjoy and if you have any other questions or concerns feel free to e-mail me or post here.
roozbeh7@hotmail.com (either I or another memeber of our team will be writing up a complete walk through which will be posted on our main site so stay tuned for that also :P)
Enjoy and please leave comments we do read them all.
A good thing to do in that part is to hide under the console and wait for the combine to come closer, and then shoot. At least that was what i did XD
Ay the start I have to turn the switch (after the guy runs into the water) I find getting up the stairs impossible without being killed. Help please?
I have to congratulate the development team on this refreshing mod. I had a wonderful time playing it - Andrew D.
@ DonBot im from spain, and well i have a really fast connection though maybe urs is just slower =.=?
its still a great mod.
and for the ppl with the metrosuit thing,ur not supposed to attack the combine while u have the suit on,ur suppose 2 find ur way around them without having to hit them
Good mod, I really liked the rebel battles in the middle. The start could have used some work, becuase the place was so big I couldn't really figure out what to do next. The ending was hard at first, but I got it eventually. Overall, you did a good job, not incredible, but worth my time! Keep it up!
So far so good! It's a toughie, but a good challenge. But I need help already! I'm in the metro cop suit afer having all my weapons destroyed in the chamber, and I just cannot pass all the combine with just a night stick! There are no weapons to be had and around 10 of them up a flight of stairs after killing 5 or in the hallway. Are they supposed to recognise me as the enemy even with the suit on? Am I doing something wrong or am I just not very good!?
Thanks for the for the effort you have obviously put in.
