A Mod spanning in all of the Half Life world. You play as a Rebel named Jack with help of a friend throughout the game.

"So far my goal is getting as many citizens out of the city and in to safety as possible. Yet we've been running into constant Combine reinforcements, Striders everywhere, and more zombies than i can count. Only two of us were assigned this mission and hopefully we can accomplish it. If we don't then were all dead. Right now im in a lone room, Striders roaming outside and closing in but ill make it out of here. just have to fight them off....."

Along with that, City17 Brings a list of graphical Features towards the Source Engine Including:

  • A featured in-built LUA engine. Allows for flexibility and HUD implementations.
  • Volumetric Lighting with smaller features included:

Media

  1. God Rays for sun effects against Geometry.
  2. Light shafts generated by any light source when casted into a dark exterior or Interior.
  3. Planned features to work without the need of DX10, much like other games require. Play without the worry of any needed hardware upgrades or software.
  • Dynamic Lighting, including scalable lighting at realtime, with proper occlusion, and realtime shadowing.

Hey all and I've come to add a little info about the mod so far, and some important things. Mainly the mod is going to be delayed. Yeah true. I do feel bad about it, however we really would like to release this with the new engine update included, due to many things being different in the new engine. Many things might not work the same or even act better. Therefore we would like to implement all this to really get things in a up-to-date fashion.

Also the Mod Will require Episode 1 and maybe even possibly ep2 for its benchmark particle effects. Yet we aren't too sure on that as of yet. However with that said thats the bad news. Now on to the good.

We've been featured in a little interview with Source Mod Magazine (SMM). The great thing is they are much of a little site starting, and getting into review mods out the mainly for the Source engine itself. However they haven't got a site just yet, so I'm going to post up the interview here in a day or two. They still need to get some things ready. These guys where great to talk to, and the interview itself sort of became an interrogation between the both of us as we ended up asking questions ourselves to even help you out on getting to know them. The guys over at SMM are great and we hope they have great luck with there work. So thats it for today, hopefully next post i can keep it happy and that will be good.

Oh and yeah its still Crunch time over here at Gear! So were very close to getting this tied up now. Thats another good news bit i suppose and with that im off. Time to slave with my mate Hammer. --Gear 17:20, 22 Oct 2007 (PDT)

Hope you got some Zombie snacks.

One likes what appears to be a sewer, or a flooded hallway with dim lighting, either way it's a feast for the eyes..

It's "Volumetric" lighting, not "Volume Metric" just so you know before someone rather more pedantic than myself starts bitching like mad.

Anyhow, judging from the media it's looking rather awesome got a nice dark eerie atmosphere to some of the maps.

So far its crunch time over where we are, but were mainly waiting for the sdk update. Also the mod will be out before the end of this year for sure! We've been through some delays now and then but now we might just release somewhere next month or so.
