Amazing, amazing, amazing trailer! You guys are a shoo-in for MOTY.
That was....................... (I'm Speechless) :D
GREAT JOB THOUGH!
AMAZING WORK!
great trailer
that was boss :D
So much win! Absolutely amazing trailer.
This mod need to become expansion pack for Half-Life 2.
I am not joking, you guys put alot of effect into this mod and I think your guys deserve to get paid for that.
We've treated it like an expansion pack actually. Originally it was what blue shift was to HL1. On the topic of selling it, we wouldn't want to do that, it be pretty unfair to some of the other great hl2 based mods out there too like R&D and Minerva, all great hl2 mods. But being featured on Steam would be hella-nice.
plus I'm pretty sure it'd be illegal >.>
Oh yeah, of course.
The last 2 seconds of the video is my favorite part. 2012, "This is bullS***"
I love the use of "Electricity" for the trailer music. It doesn't seem to fit the theme of the mod (in my opinion), but I can't complain when you use music by "The Avalanches"
Okay. MOTY 2011.
The Trailer was ***. Doesn't get me excited, because it has that unfitting music in it. Plus, it doesn't really show much, other than the levels we have seen a million times in pictures, and then some. But I am excited for the mod because of the source code and the good looking graphics. But doesn't look like you've changed much except for the graphics. I mean, the HL2 mechanics were great, but you should try and change things up a bit gameplay wise, like for example, that inventory system.
It seemed more like a gameplay trailer set to music instead of a trailer. It was kind of long and dragged a bit. It would help if it was a lot shorter.
Have you read the other media updates we've publishes? We talk about gameplay changes and other variations in the past three articles.
Im speechless... amazing trailer! I thought the music went very well with the trailer and cant wait to play this mod!
Mkey, i don't quite get it. I played hl2 years ago and all i see in this video is: the same enemies, weapons, textures and models. The only new thing here might be the maps (still with hl2 textures) so it's kind of hard to tell. So basically this is just a map pack for the old hl2 game? What about adding some new things? All this is something i've already played over and over again in like 2-300 mods for hl2. I see that people are really excited about it, so it might be just me. I almost puke my guts out everytime i see those ugly and crappy hl2 weapons/textures/models. This was GOLD 12 years ago, but common. It's 2012 soon, time to upgrade and go on with something new. Seems like people are so hungry for more hl. that they can milk this product longer than modern warfare.
There's some new stuff but obviously it's HL2. That's not to say it will fall in line with the thousands of other mods you've played so to speak. We completely understand Hl2 is quite tired and tried at this point. We're focusing on creating a quality Half Life 2 based mod overall, at the base.
I see i see. Seems like it works too =) People are going nutz, so you're doing something right. Thanks for answering and acting pro, even to the negative critics bro =)
Yeah honestly I am quite surprised. I mean, looking back you see how the rise and decline of hl2 based mods have progressed. So there was this point where we kinda stood back and gauged on whether or not C17 would still be worthwhile making.
Like I had said previously though, we're fully concentrated on making a top notch quality game, and specifically that goal was mainly around story telling, and story building for the Resistance. Though we honestly can't say we didn't enjoy making the game look nice while we were at it. With what I was saying earlier though, I think the mac updates really brought this large influx of players.
It introduced HL2 to a ton of people who likely had no idea about it, so the percentage of people who were already kinda of tired of HL2 dramatically fell. Or rather, was entirely overshadowed by the people that now did. So I think that overall, there's still a lot of love for this game, but it's really the novel things that are what make a HL2 based mod so special, like for instance the physics puzzles with Research & Development. So while hl2 is probably going to quickly get old-ish again, unless Valve releases HL3 or something soon, I personally feel that as long as HL2 mods are top quality they'll still be welcome. So we definitely know we have to kick it up a notch, otherwise we might as well not even try.
Hehehehe :) Nice =) I understand what you're saying and i'm a bit nostalgic myself to be honest. I always love good remakes of quality games. I wish you great success with your mod bro :) I've seen what some people have done with the source engine, so i know it's a powerful toy to play with.
