Celeritas Eos is an open world dark fantasy horror survival role playing game set on a fictional world with a low fantasy setting. As Lucia, the player will journey to the land of Eridanus to fight at the heart of the world's problems but is this journey of her own free will or of a diabolical design?

With Equilibrium of the Night, players can expect an amazing role-playing experience which gives them complete freedom in what they do. The mod features an open ended non-linear design in terms of exploration and quest completion harkening back to classic RPG's such as Ultima, Baldur's Gate and the original Fallout games. Build a party of companions of your choosing, be a righteous knight, pillage towns and villages for gold or simply explore the world seeking treasure, how you play the mod is entirely up to you and nearly every quest has multiple solutions and outcomes.

"Remove your shackles, you pitiable formation of flesh and bone and pursue me to learn truth..."

After the release of two demos for Celeritas Eos, we have yet more good news to share...

The Beta:

After consideration, the team have decided to release a public beta of Celeritas Eos.

This public beta will contain the majority of the mod's content. The "Requiem" demo section will have implemented the feedback of players so expect more content and significant changes to that part of the mod. Here's what's to expect with the beta:

  • The "Requeim" demo but updated with player feedback.
  • The Content after the "Requeim" demo that's set on Eridanus.

In summary: You'll have access now to 80% of the world's content with most of the mod's quests finished. Exploration is seamless (as it should be as this is all one module). Feedback will be needed as it will change the final version of the mod. This beta will not contain the ending section of the mod however but expect 15-20 hours of gameplay (maybe more depending on your play-style). The alpha testers will also be delighted to hear that Act 2 will be completely different to what they once experienced a year ago so there's reason for everyone to play the beta.

Now I know what some of you might be thinking: "Why not just release the complete mod in sections?" and the answer is that more work is still needed and feedback is required to see what the majority want. For example, from feedback, we've had someone saying the mod's encounters were too challenging for them and others saying they enjoyed the encounters. User rebby-ra also set up a poll on racism in the mod because some didn't like it but the poll shows (currently) that the majority agree that it fits the narrative.

From this type of interaction and feedback from players, we can decide what the majority enjoy and want more of and develop the final product to implement more of what people desire.

From another stand-point, releasing the finished mod in sections like this also requires more work on variables and scripting to make sure choices carry over to each module and asides from the "Requiem demo" most of the world is connected in a way that makes sense to fit into one mod. I also want the mod to feel non-linear, not just in questing but in exploration too and having it as one complete mod will be better suited for that.

The North

Before we continue, I'd also like to remind people to try out the Requiem demo and leave their feedback for it. Without sounding rude, half of you did ask for it and some of you even doubted the mod's existence and now that we have something out, you have all suddenly gone so quiet. Guys, we need your feedback! When the final mod releases and we get complaints like, "there was not enough content of Lord Fire, you guys suck!" then you only have yourselves to blame for not telling us during this stage!

But seriously, over 300 people have downloaded the demo and only several people currently have given us feedback. Let's change that! If you've played the demo then head over to our feedback thread and tell us what you loved, hated etc. It will lead to a better final product.

When to expect to the beta? Later this year but I have no firm ETA on it yet.

On another important matter: Celeritas Eos will no longer be a four-module long series. It has taken us almost two years to finish Equilibrium of the Night and subsequent mods in the series would have to be bigger and better requiring far more time, work and dedication. I'm personally getting tired of modding and wouldn't see myself with the ability to dedicate a further several years to the completion of a series of epic open world mods. This isn't bad news however as this was never set in stone and this also allows for more solid endings for EoTN.

To end this report, I'd just like to thank you guys for remaining patient and I'll like to thank all of you who have provided feedback. Rest assured, the waiting will be paid off in the end.

So how is the demo coming along? Will it be released today after all...or it is another delay?

Seriously, if it has to be delayed such info should be delivered at least like 5 days before the specified date instead of it happening on the very day the game was meant to be released so I hope all is well...

You need to calm down, ABJECT_SELF is from the USA, "today" for him starts in a few hours, so it will probably released by tommorow for us in europe.

At the moment of writing this, he's in the process of uploading the files which includes the haks and (of course) the mod. So it'll also take an additional several hours to be authorized.

Well, you're not alone mate but it's become a side project I'm working on. As you've probably seen, most of the original team for CMA left so I'm personally working on that one all by myself.

Crowley is in Celeritas Eos as well, just so you know...

Sorry to deliver the last news anybody wanted to hear, but we're going to have to delay the demo by a week.

A couple of persistent quests turned out to be a bigger challenge then expected. After much headscratching, I decided it was better to make sure this feature worked in the demo rather than release blatantly broken code. RL issues have also severely hampered the time I could dedicate to this mod the past couple weeks.

So the release date for the demo is now June 6th. The good news is that we'll be able to do a more organized launch with new media and better documentation leading up to the release.

I know there's some skepticism over this mod, and that's probably to be expected. Relax, this isn't going to become another vaporware mod. I plan to do a video detailing what players can expect in the demo to prove it.

Oh, this again? <_<

People need to drop this ridiculous accusation. Just by looking at any of our profiles, people can see we're legitimate modders who were using this site long before Celeritas Eos even existed.

I trust ABJECT will get the release on time but if he doesn't, that doesn't mean we're trolls, it means we made a wrong release estimate (although all of them to date have been my fault, not ABJECT's).

Delays are very common in modding. Some people seem to forget we are ordinary people who are either students or working and we do this for no reward in our spare time and sometimes we can't meet our promised schedules because something comes up in real life. Modding takes up a lot of time and our jobs or college/uni lessons are far more important (for obvious reasons, I hope you'll understand).

Sorry if this post seems rude but I just wanted to clear this up as you're not the first person to make an accusation like this. I've seen two "fake mod" comments beforehand (which are completely unfounded of course as anyone who tested the alpha will tell you).

P.S

This is not a confirmation of a delay of any sort. From what ABJECT told me two days ago, the release will go as proceeded! :D

i believe you are making the mod, but i have to admit to getting worried when there are no updates or info of any sort over long periods of time, which does not seem to be a problem here anymore.

i have seen quite a few mods and various projects that sounded great, and everything seemed to be going their way, but when they were starting to beta test they just stop. no word of what was happening, no talk of progress, not even letting us know if the project was being continued. i could go to their site and see something like;
"progress: slow but steady." - posted April,15,2013

my only request is, if you do stop working on this for whatever reason, please let us know instead of letting us try and figure it out for ourselves.

Once again:

The delay of the demo is not us stringing you along to a cancellation. If you recall, I cancelled some older mods I was working on a while back last year in March ( Moddb.com ).

If we (for whatever reason) decide to cancel Celeritas Eos (and we've come too far to actually cancel it unlike with the projects above which were far from completion and had lost all their developers), then rest assured based on the above, that it would be announced.

If you actually look at our news feed ( Moddb.com ) you'll find that at the most, information has been scarce for up to two months maximum. The project normally receives a new article monthly but if it's not monthly then it's bimonthly. I wouldn't classify this as a long period. I've seen some mods go seven months without updates only to have some huge burst of information.

So you should always expect an article every month or every two months. If it goes past four months, then maybe get worried :)

Well it's ABJECT's first mistake. I made the release mistakes numerous times. I don't think ABJECT will follow my road though and probably learnt the first time. I mean, I hope he's got the release estimate right this time otherwise I'm back to reassuring people the mod is real <_<

What a shock, there was a delay. I also did as you suggested and looked up your modding record. I found a total of 3 released mods between the two of you, with all of them released 3 to 4 years ago. Congratulations, doesn't mean this one couldn't be a troll.

Again, I sincerely hope it's not as this mod does look interesting.

As for the delays being common, that the advantage of not giving a release date until you're truly done with a release. The better moders/devs I've followed nearly always say: it's done when it's done, but they give frequent updates.

As for the previous beta, I don't know anyone who was in it. Hell, just releasing that as a very early public release would be enough to convince me this is real.

I'll also admit that I'm being a bit of a troll with this, but again I'm in wait and see mode, sine I personally have no real proof this isn't a long term, elaborate troll.

Actually, ABJECT recently released an major updated version of July Anarchy with new content only last year. Moddb.com

I myself have spent the last two years working on both Celeritas Eos and another mod since releasing my last mods in 2011. So, yes, this does mean this mod won't be a troll. I wouldn't use an account that's been so active on this site if I wanted to troll nor would I dedicate two years to writing about the mod. I'm sure ABJECT wouldn't either.

The Witcher 3 just got delayed to 2015, Watch Dogs was delayed numerous times and Black Mesa was delayed numerous times over the years (http://wiki.blackmesasource.com/History_of_the_Mod). These were by teams bigger than ours and more better so it shows it can happen to anyone regardless of the quality of the developers.

Try Moddb.com , Moddb.com , Moddb.com , Moddb.com , Moddb.com , Moddb.com , Moddb.com , Moddb.com

They will all tell you there was an alpha. Indeed, the last user, actually already did this two pages back. So, I'd appreciate it if you stopped insisting that we're trolling.

You're in the right to be angry as I announced a release date numerous times in the past for mod but I've personally learnt from that hence why I've since put no estimate on the mod.

So yeah, PM anyone of them if you're still having doubts (this goes for anyone else with doubts) and they will assure you there was an alpha and that a major reason for the extended delay and ABJECT's involvement was to not only iron out all the bugs and polish the mod but to bring new content too the empty towns.

People accessed it from my profile, it's actually Moddb's fault as it was uploaded privately to the test group but people found a way around that and posted a link from where it could be downloaded.

Quote:I found it pretty unimpressive for something that had been in the works for such a long time.

Exactly and you weren't the only hence the initial delay. Also it was an alpha after-all which is why I didn't want a public release because there would be some people put off trying the final version.

(BTW the alpha version was eight months old so it had't been in development for too long. It was the 2013 august version and keep in mind work on the mod started in November of 2012. Nine months have passed since then).

It would have been great to have had your feedback back then. Most of the alpha testers wanted in just to get early access unfortunately. Only several actually responded with feedback and then over 200 people got in and not one (well until you of course) decided to provide any sort of feedback!

I think you and the other testers will be able to tell everyone on both the demo's release and the full release how much the mod has changed (and for the better).

(P.S I could still do with feedback of what you thought, most of the mod has massively changed since then anyway and I'd wager the bulk of the problems have been dealt with but out of curiosity, I'd like know more of what you thought so shoot me up a PM if you have the time)

To continue:

In the alpha test group (which is still private due to potential spoilers), we had forums where several of the testers actually wrote out the imbalances of the mod, what they thought needed to be improved and of course, the bugs.

So we've taken that feedback and expanded from there and ABJECT himself has breathed extra life into the mod too by filling up the empty towns with quests and producing the crime and AI system which makes the world feel alive.

So trust him on the delay. He wants the demo to be the best just as I want the full release to be the best.

I honestly don't really care one way or the other, like I said I'm wait to see if you do release anything. And I'll say again, I was trolling at the time of my first and second post.

You're being extremely defensive about this, which to me says you've been trolled before, or are a troll yourself. I've seen people with projects like this go either was in their reactions, like that troll NWN mod from something like 8 months ago.

Hell, the only reason I did troll a bit was the fact that you guys gave a hard release date, since I've seen maybe 1 in ten specific dates met for devs making no money on a game. Also, I wouldn't bring in games like watchdogs or the witcher, as their development cycle is much more complex than a NWN mod. Namely, in the development of things like the game engine, where as you are making use of an existing engine that someone has already developed.

You claimed the mod was fake so why are you surprised that I would defend it? You're not the first or only person to make the accusation (look at the guest comments).

Quote:I've seen people with projects like this go either was in their reactions, like that troll NWN mod from something like 8 months ago.

I suspected that this was about that other mod (your sign up date matches the time that that mod was posted).

To which I say: There's a huge difference to a mod that got abandoned after one month (which was made by a guy with no other activity on the site and who had just joined to post it) and to a nearly two year old mod made by people who have modded before and who have been active on the site for years.

Then you didn't understand the point I was making. Existing engine or no, modding is hard and unless you've released or worked on a mod yourself, then to be honest, I don't think you're qualified to speak here.

Since you admitted you're just trolling now, I think we'll leave it here shall we?
