Celeritas Eos is an open world dark fantasy horror survival role playing game set on a fictional world with a low fantasy setting. Intended to be a four part series, the series starts with Equilibrium of The Night where you will assume the role of a set protagonist although subsequent titles in the series after Equilibrium will feature your own custom characters.

The first module in the series - Equilibrium of The Night - takes place in the land of Eridanus and features a woman named Lucia who journeys to there to stop an evil occurring within Castle Lox Avue. This evil is very powerful and is impacting the whole world by making zombies and other abominations arise all over it prompting knights, warriors and even ordinary people to journey to Eridanus to help fight against the source of where all of the evil is coming from.

Blog RSS Feed Report abuse Latest News: Celeritas Eos "Avue" public demo on the way!

3 comments by ABJECT_SELF on Apr 12th, 2014

We've talked this up a lot, and now it's time to put our money where our mouth is (if we had any money for this thing). Players will finally get to try Celeritas Eos with our upcoming public demo, "Avue"!

Due date: EoM May 2014

For our first (probably only) public demo, we'll be showing off the city of Avue, a major urban hub that the player should encounter 3-6 hours into the game. This is the seat of power for the region and host of the corrupted castle Lox Avue, which makes the game's largest city also the center of your investigation into the chaos that has gripped Eridanus. While you won't be able to venture outside of the city, you will have free reign of the place, meaning the demo has no real ending and you can spend as much time walking Avue's streets as you want.

That's not to say you'll be lacking in things to do. A number of huge self-contained sidequests can be fully gained and completed within Avue's walls. From the disappearance of a local noble to investigating a suspected vampire, you'll find a wealth of surprising and horrifying secrets underneath the cobble streets.

Avue is a city of secrets, some of which may be better left buried.

Quests aside, this demo offers a chance to finally show the unique gameplay and AI features that set Celeritas Eos apart from any other NWN mod out there. You'll be able to see city streets naturally fill with people thanks to our procedural generation system and watch them go about their lives in the city. You'll encounter public unrest, criminals and possibly even rioting thanks to our crime rate system. You'll also eavesdrop on dynamically-generated conversations from NPCs with different personalities.

Of course, the real draw to Celeritas Eos is mankind's desperate war against a mysterious undead force. You'll have plenty of opportunities to do battle with zombies, vampires and other brand new enemies. You won't have to go it alone, especially when we've raised the henchman limit to allow you to assemble an actual party of heroes and/or villains.

You'll have the chance to help defend a besieged city - or watch its people fend for themselves.

Avue is more than a city. It's a key character in our story, and we've worked tirelessly to give it a voice that is disturbingly haunting, absurdly hilarious and undeniably memorable. For those who have been patiently waiting for this mod for some time, your support has been greatly appreciated and we're glad to finally offer you a tangible piece of this ambitious mod.

Q: When will the demo be released?
A: By the end of May of this year.

Q: Will the demo include all the same content we can expect in the final game?
A: No. There are overarching quests that stretch outside of Avue that we won't include for obvious reasons, plus plot-related characters and locations that we are not ready to reveal.

Q: Will the demo be updated at all?
A: Yes. The demo is still a beta product, so patches and updates will be released as we discover new bugs. Certain quests also may not be ready by the demo's release, so we'll add them as they are being developed.

Q: I participated in the closed alpha test. Is there anything here I haven't seen before?
A: Tons! Avue has been almost completely rebuilt from the ground up, with plenty of new locations both exterior and interior. Conversations have been rewritten, quests have been altered and countless new features have been added since the alpha.

Survival horror remains a theme even in the urban-centric demo.

Q: What happened to that JM_Scion douche from the earlier posts?
A: That's me. Just changed my name.

Q: Any word on an actual release date for the full mod?
A: Not yet, but we just discovered a neat trick that should cut the total dev time into a fourth of our previous projection, so Celeritas Eos is much closer than you think.

Q: What will be required to run the Celeritas Eos demo?
A: An up-to-date copy of Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition, now available at GOG.com. As of right now, no additional mods or addons will need to be downloaded separately.

Nope nothing fake about this mod. I'm sure wombaciur, summer-knight and the others who beta tested can confirm this (along with the 100 people who broke into the "beta" unbeknownst to me until it was too late :X ). I suppose the public demo won't stop "guests" from constantly speculating this is a cancelled or fake mod either. Months of no news is common for mods and games.

Gonna vouch for this since I was one of those 100 (I blame google for letting me in). There certainly is a game being made and it does exist.

LOL no it was my fault. I thought the "beta" (really alpha) was private but it turned out people could access it from my profile. It wasn't a major problem but I didn't want people thinking that that was the final product. There were many flaws with it. In the private beta group, we received much feedback and since then have been improving on the criticisms.

Meanwhile, most of the other people invited to the beta didn't even give us any feedback. These people (and I'm not criticizing them for it) just wanted early access to a mod they were hyped for but they didn't help us in any way afterwards even though I asked for the feedback. I literally received feedback from only several people out of the 26 which was a bummer.

So the public demo is the next (logical) step.

I wanted to make a more formal announcement, but I've been short on time so I'll just say it: We will be releasing a playable public demo of this mod for everyone. Expect it to drop in about two months. I'll explain more in a news article later.

A lot has been revealed about the mod ever since its announcement back in 2012. Besides I'm sure ABJECT_SELF has much going IRL. I had not anticipated how much time must go into a mod to perfect it and balance it and much has already been revealed about the mod so we need to be careful with anything else we reveal.

Besides you'll have a huge demo of the mod in two months, hopefully that'll satiate everyone's desire for the mod for a while and reveal its quality too :)

The demo will be one of the major cities. As you (an alpha tester) know, the cities were relatively empty in alpha but have now been filled up with encounters, a crime system, quests and plenty of explorable places and characters to talk too.

The demo will be public unlike the alpha.
