Hello everyone,
We've been receiving many positive feedback from all of you sofar altho a lot of problems have also been reported. Most of these problems are coused by newer operating systems (vista/win7) due to how some settings work in these operation systems.
I would like to announce to everyone that we have switched to new software for enabling/launching the mod which should resolve most of these problems and it will be released within a fairly short time frame allong with some other new features.
Once this version is completed we will also release a version that should be usable by MAC users.
Here are some details what this new version would also include:
-Added all maps that went missing from the jump between 0.951 to 1.0
-Added Special Map Tags to indicate which maps are from Zerohour and which are new/modified Shockwave maps
-Added all classic edition maps from Generals (the Zerohour versions were drasticly altered)-Emergency Aid wil now properly repair/heal ground units
-Added New Tomahawk Models for both Regulair and Plasma
-Tomahawks will now show a laser from their turret when firing a waypoint guided missile
-Toxin Anti Tank Guns now display the Anthrax Gamma upgrade icon on the commandbar-Chinese mines now properly play show their detonation effects when triggered
-Demo Bikes now properly show the terrorist model when paradropped on a reinforcements pad
-Added New Advanced Microwave Tank Model
-Devastator no longer shows "this upgrade has allready been purchased" on the self destruct button once activated

If I already have 1.0 and want all these updates, do I have to un-install 1.0 to download this?
i dom't think so, The 0.951 patch didnt so this one shouldnt have to either.
I mean wouldnt be a patch like before dont take what i say as the right anwser but if its not a patch then i have no idea you shouldnt have to. I hope.
Does this mod Require Zero hour to Operate?
Was Curious since I do have a Higher End computer that could run this mod Better if its stand alone.
This mod need Zero Hour. And, if making this stand alone, perhaps EA would complain about copyrights or even piracy (I think)
That sucks. D:
No it doesn't. And it's a mod.
I know its a Mod. . . And yes it does suck cause Now I realized that I Can't use it on my "High End Computer".
Wat.
Why? ZH is an old game, you're high-end computer should be able to run crap like this in 1600x900 on max settings at 60 fps with anti-aliasing. And I have no idea why you think if it would run faster as a standalone.
Also, it's a mod, mods require something to modify and thus are never standalone. If this were standalone, it would mean lawsuits everywhere.
Its Because I Have jacked my TFD on that Computer and I would have to complete wipe my Hard drive in order for to get TFD installed. . . Which I wont. . .
i say it's an expansion! it changes everything!
For those who have problems running Generals/Zero Hour on Win7 x64:
Forums.cncnz.com
If you're running a resolution that isn't supported by the game, run it normally, set and save all gameplay/detail options, exit game, edit the Options.ini file with desired resolution [eg. 1920x1080]. Hope this helps anyone having issues with Gen/ZH under 64 bit Windows 7.
Thx a lot, it works!
But you should specify that you have to...
Go to >>> Computer /LocalDisk(c:)/Users/UserName/MyDocuments/C&C GenZH Data/ (or where ever you have it)
Then open the Options.ini and change the resolution there to what ever you have.
what about vista, i get the message where it says
you have encountered a serious error this may be due to overheating... and so on,
i have tried to uninistal and re instal plz any ideas?
Hunter, your the man. MAC users better be very greatfull!!
Yeah, they really should. We are pretty darn tired of making Mac versions, which especially difficult when no one onthe team has a Mac.ಠ_ಠ
Actually, sir, Twisted Insurrection is standalone, and works better that way. Better resolution, less space, etcetera. Maybe thats what he is talking about.
Goober, I dont think that a standalone will do much though. :/ At least for Zero Hour.
Wiki.cold-war-crisis.de Here try this, everybody. It works for Zero Hour as well as the mod. The resolution one worked good for me.
Twisted Insurrection is different than a mod based of of genereals though... Tiberian Sun(the game the mod is based off of) is available for free download and EA doesn't mind because its not affecting them... Generals and Zero Hour are not released by EA as free so this can't be a standalone unless it is released and permission is given though this won't happen for a while since the can still make money off The First Decade... =/
Cold War Crisis is not stand-alone, it is simply a non-destructive mod like ours. Mods that are nondestructive, as far as I know, should work fine with other mods installed as long as there are non conflicting file names. CWC IIRC works with Shockwave and RotR installed.
can you make it work with campaign?
In the future. The campaign is pretty broken at the moment due to all the changes.
"-Added Special Map Tags to indicate which maps are from Zerohour and which are new/modified Shockwave maps"
Ahh. Thank you. Have been wanting that.
it works perfect for me, cheers SWR! ^_~
Dear The_Hunter I have 1 question Why did You remove for example from "tanks general" napalm strike and 2 gattling tanks from tanks dropped by plane? Shockwave 0.951 - this the best mod ! I thing that You add things for 0.951 to up grade the mod! what a pitty tjah you remove a lots of cool things :(
Why "chrono" enforcer tan is so small ? he look like toy in game :( why the chmanche is so weak ? they die like fly. in 0.951 they wos stronger
can't wait for the next update !
Will this resolve my problem of the serious error???
Probably not considering that most people don't get the serious errors.
With no details on why or what's going on with you're game/system. I'd suggest a clean install, which is uninstall the game & mod, delete the folder that contained it, and reinstall everything int he correct fashion.
Note that if you're using Win 7 and are having trouble with the launcher (I use Win 7 and I have to rename the files manually to get the game working) than wait for the next patch, as we are making a new launcher that works with Win 7.
same here... it works fine... but i had to rename all the .gib into .big... (won't work otherwise)
but anyways... the mod is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!!!!
When I try to launch shockwave I get this error:
Failed to copy the file 'C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer(tm) Generals Zero Hour\Install_Final.bmp' to 'C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer(tm) Generals Zero Hour\Install_Final_Original.bmp' (error 5: acces denied.)
I reinstalled generals, zero hour and shockwave using the decade version. this did not fix the problem.
This is weird because the previous version of shockwave did run perfectly on my system. I do have Vista.
Maybe the repair function might also incorporate repairing !swgenchallenge (don't know exact filename right now) and data/scripts/script.ini after a system crash. When I try to launch SW after system crash I get 2 reports that these files can't be renamed, going to the files mentioned shows that these files have the names SW tries to rename them to.
I know what to do then, but my friends don't. Hope you understand it, typing from mobile...
Edit: off course I tried repair after crash, but doesn't solve the mentioned problem... is on xp systems btw
I mean that the repair function in a new release might be able to fix this problem, not after a system crash... :P but couldn't edit anymore...
My game crashes a lot in the middle of skirmishes.it says serious error. Will this fix it?
Dear The Hunter why did You remove napalm strike from tank general and gattling tanks from tank drop?
