C&C: ShockWave is an enhancement mod for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. The main goal of this mod is to make Zero Hour a more interesting game with more diversity between the generals, making you think twice before you select a certain general, and overall provide more choices, diversity, and strategic freedom than in Zero Hour - while keeping the spirit and design direction of the original Generals game and storyline.

Shockwave 0.95 has been released and is now here at Moddb for your downloading pleasure. .95 includes over 100 new units and a huge amount of new additions and fixes. It also includes three new Generals(!). So go on ahead and d-load and get out there and play it! (Version 0.93 NOT required) While installing, it may seem like it freezes up at 9%. In actuality, it's just simply unpacking the biggest file, and may take a while to get past that point. Note: A clean install always helps if your having issues. Just remember, install Generals, ZH, ZH 1.04, SW 0.95, SW 0.951 in that order. If the problem persists, visit the forum for support

Positive Points:
Lots of new structures, units, effects, new AI, Gameplay, etc...

Negative Points:
The General Ironside, Mohmar and Leang aren't fully functional to AI, The game runs very Slower than preveious version(0.93). I can run the game without the mod with graphic quality at HIGH, with the mod 0.95, i need run rhe game with graphics less than LOW.

Repairing the error that makes the game run slow.
Doing that with the generals Ironside, Mohmar and Leang are also controlled by the AI.

Have a nice day, the mod are very cool, i've bought a new videocard(nvidia GeForce 6600GT)just for play the game faster. :)

I've downloaded and installed ShockWave, but after I click launch and the "Command & Conquer: Shockwave" splash screen comes up, another window comes up saying that there is a serious error. What's up with that?! I've tryed eveything to fix it; uninstalled all other mods working with Zero Hour, uninstalled all, what I call, "Attachment" mods (mods that, when the original game starts up, the mod starts up with it as a replacement to the original), witch usually cause the most conflicts, but, STILL, THE SAME ERROR KEEPS SHOWING UP!!! Man, I had high hopes for this mod. Now, that's starting to fade REAL quick! Can anyone help me fix this?!

The best thing to do is start off with a clean slate. Sometimes uninstall programs are flawed and don't retore the program that it is installed within. So simply do the following:
- Uninstall ZH and Generals.
- Install Generals and ZH
- Install ZH version 1.04
- Install Shockwave version 0.95
(note: the installation stalls at 9%, this is normal, just let it run)

If it doesn't work at that point, I suggest you to go the support forums and try to get an answer.

i installed the first one but all i get when i click on the SW95_beta thing is something that says i need to extract files, in the manual it doesn't say anything about that. Any advice?

NergiZed Mar 3 2008, 11:06pm replied:

Not really sure why it would say needs to extract files as it is a self-extracting processes (if there's nothing stopping, just continuein clicking 'next').

I say you should visit the support forum, read all the rules and tips, then maybe make a post.

Though your problem seems pretty mundane, so I suggest just looking around there for a while before posting a topic.

NergiZed Mar 21 2008, 8:16pm replied:

Check if you installed it to the right place, SW.95 probably installs to the default root directory of a normal Generals: Zero Hour folder, not the first decade installation path.

If your torrented one doesn't work, you should go find another copy somehow. (I've bought the thing twice and torrented it once, and it works fine for all three copies).

I suggest you go and buy the game from amazom:

But yeah, if you're a n00b at torrenting, or cracking, you should get the legal copy, as they are generally eaiser to instal on.

If the patch gives you an error while installing, I suggest you re-d-load it as it could be corrupt. If that still doesn't work than I suggest a fresh instal. (As some mods don't have installation or removal programs and mess up the game itself).

If all that still fails, you should go to the support forums; look through some of guides and FAQs before you post.

Wow I found this late I think! 0.95 Rocks! I am using a Mac. This is by far the easiest time I have had loading a mod. Good work guys! I would like to see a few new teams though. (Like Russia, Israel,Germany) I know the development process is long and hard just tol. I would like to see Ai's for the new Generals. Over all Shockwav rocks the house!

NergiZed Jun 9 2008, 5:45pm replied:

thanks for your support. We generally try to get a mac version out ASAP once the PC version is out the door.

As for your new sides thing, I'm afraid that is impossible as well as agaisnt the very reason for this game. Shockwave was created to be a proper C&C Generals:ZH expansion unlike the lazy job EA did with the ZH and the original. We wanted it to not slip too far away from what Generals was originally; thus no new factions. (Also we've reached the limit in the amount of factions allowed for the game engine).

Although Russia, and the EU are part of another mod this team is making called 'Rise of the Reds", which will feature 5 main factions with 3 subfactions each (but no 'vanilla' sides).

NergiZed Jun 9 2008, 5:48pm replied:

Not sure what to tell you. When Vista came out, I was one of the first to get it, only to my dismay that most of my games don't work for it. I switched back to XP, maybe you should too.

not sure why you would need a big file reader, as if the game works (which has .big files in it), it should function. But then again it's Vista.

The new generals don't have AI yet, so those guys won't build anything.}

All the other maps should work with AI (I've tested them all).

If you want additional SW maps, you can d-load the most recent map-pack (which contains some rather odd ones), or you can visit the following link for out mapping forums:

So yeah, not much is gonna happen with Shockwave for a while.

Your mod is insane i just tried it and most of gla units are way overpowered like the ZSu tank or something like that and that germn flak tank dont remember its name and i think that the laser generals choppers tail should be a litle bit bigger, wider because it looks so small.

The Ballance issues with the Python and the ZSU have been dealt with. I doubt the Laser-Chee is gonna change.
