Command & Conquer Red Alert History is a small mod that adds a few new units. The idea came about because I wondered what a few Red Alert units would look like and perform inside the Tiberium wars engine. I consider this mod a 'museum', wherein I add a few historical pieces that I like into the C&C3; engine! The Mod will be updated by adding a few units at a time (typically around 10 items). The mod is a mixture of mostly EA & public models, as well as a few original models done by me. Check the forums & articles for detailed information and for in-depth discussion.

Yes, I will be scaling the power plant up! It is way too small.
I've also just noticed that I neglected to remove the bottom 2 torus rings on the pristine & damaged models, this has now been remedied!

The TV screens are really a nice touch, and I don't remeber them from RA2? Is it your awesome-O idea?

Yes I dreamt it up has part of the high tech RA2 Allied image.

The truth is that I've always wanted to add something like this to a power plant in homage to an old joke in a very early Simpsons episode, based around the nuclear power plant getting a highly visible warning sign for the people of Springfield.

From memory: Warning sign gets progressively more bleak has it shows signs that represents the various levels of a nuclear plant disaster.
The final message reads something like: Core meltdown, Repent sins.

Homer quips "The jokes on them, if there is a core meltdown they'll be no power for the sign!"

Hmm nuke pwr plant, Homer Simpson, is there any coincidence it loox like "3 bottles of beer"! thing in the middle must be to pop caps, Homer would love to work there XD

This is awesomeness Madin!
Really nice animations too, it would be cool if when it explodes the smoke would be green (like Nods refinery emits) and it lingers for abit, would be even neater if it could be toxic to cause a little dmg in the area..
Anyway very nice :D

it would be cool if you could get some of the old sound effects, and are you going to do all of the ra2 buildings?

Description

This video shows the build up and damage\destroy states.
It also gives you a basic idea of the in-game feel, rather than the false impression that static images can give.

The build up\damaged if applicable damaged state 2 and destruction work that is necessary for a mod to have a degree of polish, is the area where a lot of mods collapse.
Doing concepts, models and textures is a very creative and artistic process, although there is a small amount of 'grunt' work involved.

The rest of the process, the above in addition to coding and bug testing is often a grind. It is incredibly repetitive, and while there is some artistic flair involved, it is mostly tedious 'data input'.

If you think that having say 30 models and textures done, WITHOUT any of the other stuff, will motivate you to complete a mod... we'll see how you or your team feel after you've done the 10th build up\damaged skin\damage 2 animation\ destruction animation.

Seriously consider getting batches of the above done sooner rather than later, don't allow to many 'unfinished' models to pile up.

They look great in your media presentations, but some poor bastard has to go through and finish the job, and it can often take more time than the concept\modelling\texturing process combined.
