Command & Conquer Legacy merges the original Command & Conquer and Red alert into one game for multiplayer. The five playable sides are the Global Defensive Initiative, Botherhood of Nod, Allies, Soviet, and the Renegades a new side made of various combinations of the other fours sides units.
Q: Why are you working on a Red alert mod 8 years after it is released?
A: Command & Conquer is my favorite game series and now that Westwood no longer exists it is up to the fans to continue the legacy. The mod itself actually started as me wanting to redo two of my older mods: Nod Reign and the GDI Conflict. So I combined both into this uber-mod.
Q: When will it be released?
A: Its available now.
Q. Why do the sides have units they did not have in the core games?
A. Some are due to balance, while others like Nod having the Shock Trooper are due to hard coding in Red alert. A note for you hardcore C&C fans: Nod is based on a cross between DOS Multiplay and TS, that is why they don't have the Rocket Launcher, besides they have enough units.
Q: What can be expected in the mod?
A: A homogeneous combination of Tiberian Dawn and Red alert.
Q: What changes are there other than new units?
A. For starters there are two new multiplayer maps, the AI is more difficult, tanks auto-crush infantry, infantry auto-scatter, and other small changes.
Q: Who is the fifth side?
A. They are the Renegades. They have various units from the other four sides. They are basically a filler side because RA has five countries.
I was inspired by the release of the First Decade pack to make a new version of Legacy.
