These two fixes are universal, meaning that it should work with Generals or Zero Hour, modded or non-modded if it works at all. It may or may not does more wonder for you than me.
Presumingly improves performance on Windows 7/8/10:
1. Go to your installed folder. This should be something like 'Electronic Arts\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour.'
2. Right click on the 'Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour' folder, and then properties.
3. Click 'Advanced.'
4. Uncheck "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties."
5. Click 'Apply' to all sub-folders and files.
Presumingly prevents the game from writing the unalterable replay function:
1. Go to your 'Documents\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour Data.'
2. Right click on the 'Replays' folder, and then properties.
3. Select the 'Security 'tab.
4. Click on 'Edit' to change permissions.
5. Deny 'Write' permission on all users.
6. Click 'OK.'
Minor stuff that could slow down or outright crash the game:
- Having 3ds Max, photoshop or other graphical applications opened.
- Having laptop unplugged.
- Having media, web browser or other games opened.
Plugins that may or may not help to increase your performance:
- DxWrapper: Github.com
- Vulkan API: Moddb.com

I managed to make the mod work (thanks to you, i'm such a newbie), but i have a question, is there a way to change the in game music to the enhanced music? because i don't see that option in the launcher settings
There's no option to change the music, unfortunately.
That really sucks, i adore the music that is made for this mod
Didn't seem to make any (noticeable) difference for me. Played as Observer on Pilgrim's Path with 4 hard AI.
Observer lags out the game because everything is rendered on screen. That's I called the topic 'Desperate.'
