Recent issue identified, when you installed the Enhanced mod with TFD, you'll most likely to get a crash on splash screen. This is not caused by OS version nor system issue. The reference is in Thai so you won't be able to translate it properly by a translator (I can assure you) but here's what has happened, translated cursory:
He perhaps to had Win7 x86, he said he installed the patch 1.04 and get the following error sack:
I first thought it might be a complatibility mode issue but turns out he mentioned later about his game that he's using TFD. Which, happened before so I concluded that it was TFD issue with the mod. I'm not sure either it's true or not. Then the other lad (I'm not sure he's younger or not but nevermind) said that he's using Win7 x64 and he got this issue at first then he solved it by copy "some" files to my document.
Possiblities:
@madmedve: Download TFD patch or even the mentioned crack
Btw, if you bored of lagging, remove the NatureGrass.ini. It does help, alot for me. The nest version I'll fix this issue.
Later, VectorIV with cares.
PS. If you found this article too confusing, read it again lol cause I'm tired of writing.
This will be helpfull for much people, good job!
this problem is caused by your settings, I had it too even with the standard C&C Gen, I had to copy a specific settings text that needed to be placed inside your documents like so.
create a txt file and name it: Options.ini
it will ask you if you are sure to use that extension, press yes.
then copy this into the notepad thingy
AntiAliasing = 1
DrawScrollAnchor =
GameSpyIPAddress = 0.0.0.0
Gamma = 50
IPAddress = 0.0.0.0
IdealStaticGameLOD = High
LanguageFilter = false
MoveScrollAnchor =
MusicVolume = 55
Resolution = 800 600
Retaliation = yes
SFX3DVolume = 79
SFXVolume = 71
ScrollFactor = 50
SendDelay = no
StaticGameLOD = Low
UseAlternateMouse = no
UseDoubleClickAttackMove = no
VoiceVolume = 70
once you did that, save the file and make sure it is placed inside the right folder C:/Users/username/Command and Conquer Generals/.
once you did that everything should be working properly, you can change the resolution inside C&C to the highest it accepts but if it gives you that problem with the critical error thing, just copy the same lines of text like here above over yours inside options and try again.
I hope this works, and I hope this was the problem causing this, not that I am typing all this for nothing^^
Maybe it's connect to the "GameLOD.ini" file, try removing it from my mod files.
Long story short: Just installed the game, patched(1.04), downloaded mod, wouldn't work, downloaded DirectX 9c, still wouldn't work, deleted all the stuff from the anti-lag patch thing, worked, used the elimination method to find out which .ini file that ****** up the game and found out that the hulk.ini thing made it crash on start. It works, but I don't have the hulk.ini file(because I deleted it). Perhaps that's everyone's problem? Hope I helped :D Oh, and I loved the background picture for the game :3 (That, and a lot of other stuff)
that is a simple problem. fresh install GenZero 1.04 but install it in
"C:\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals"
"C:\EA Games\Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour" do not install in Program File then install enhanced mod on the same location..(",)
