Will they get special upgrades, like they get upgraded with a better cargo to gather more supplies?
Nothing in particular is planned.
would be nice to have a pistol upgrade for builders of the GLA... every other member is armed why not allow the builders to defend them selves.
that sounds like a good idea but you have to think about balance if a GLA worker can attack other units in picturileur enemy dozers
than you could spam them (with the help of supply centers)which meant the GLA would be abull to build the first unit that can attack while the other factions have to wait till they build a barracks,war factory or an airfield
It would probably have some notable expense to it so that, even if it was feasible, it would essentially be an all-in that could easily be trumped by crowd control.
Not really, if its an upgrade its probably with the Shoes upgrade on the Black Market, wich is high up on the Tech Tree that other Factios get heavy anti infantary sooner, its more of a protection from ambushes for the workers.
make it a black market or palace upgrade, or each unit individually upgrades, and do the same with the dozer, and after upgrade make it only capable of repair and searching for mines
Because they are technically slaves forced to work for the GLA as indicated by their voice set. Giving them guns would make them able to riot against their masters.
Loyal slaves can be armed, many cultures that had slaves would use the loyal ones as guards. so how about with the upgrade 1 in 10 gets a hand gun.
