This mod is for all the players frustrated with the cartoony nature of Zero Hour units and buildings. We intend to replace every fanciful unit in Zero Hour with its closest possible real world equivalent, without changing the unit's capabilities.

"Hot Damn!"

This is looking really nice. But, will this be the only color scheme? Also, what will it replace? QC?

The turret looks a little small, I only saw the SPAAA in BF2, so I may be wrong

That wasn't a SPAAA, that was the 9k22 "Tunguska" ;)

BF2 has the Type 95 SPAAA which is the PGZ-95 for the Peoples Liberation Army.

Battlefield.wikia.com

Images.wikia.com

Clearly different from the 9K22 Tunguska-M1. The 9K22 Tunguska does show up actually for the MEC but the Peoples Liberation Army uses the PGZ-95/Type 95 instead of the 9K22.

You are correct, the upper part of the turret is a good 20-30% too slim. Don't worry too hard, it'll all be O.K. in-game.

That should be known as the PGZ-2012. Incorporating elements from the PGZ-04A and the PGZ-07.

If you want to see a bigger turret you can look at what is known as the PGZ-2000/PGZ-07.

Wartime.org.ua

This is actually the successor to the PGZ-04A/PGZ-95 shown here.

Goddamit I mistook the Type-95 construction from the Russian Tunguska SPAAG with the dome-like radar part.

The PGZ-95 and the 9K22 Tunguska are not even similar in appearance so I am not sure how you can mistake one for the other.

Its more a psychological matter than a physical one, the people in the West usually consider that only they and Soviet/Russians can "create", while China is only capable of "copy". In fact, from the tried-and-true type 63 MLRS, to the kick-*** J-20, China did dish out many creative goodies to slap their face, but unfortunately many of them still see things the old fashioned way.

Type 63 MLRS is based on Soviet BM-12.
J-20 is clearly based on design of "project 1.46" (deep modification of MFI 1.44) which were probably sold to China.

Reality check: There was no project 1.46. it's just a hoax created to downplay the J-20.

Well, the type 63 is a completely different system. You don't see a BM-12 can be break down to 24 pieces so they can be carried by 24 men on foot, and this thing is in 107mm calibre, NOT the BM-12, which is way larger, and they cannot be carried in the same fashion as the type 63. Don't let the Wikipedia misguide you!

BM-12, not BM-21 lol. BM-12 and Type 63 have the same caliber and actualy it's the same weapon actually. As for project 1.46 - it was the index for Mig 1.44 modification and it's exist only on papers, wich was sold to China.

Well, BM-21 is a hell on wheels, and I do know the difference between a mobile MLRS system and a towed MLRS. To be honest, I doubt if the BM-12 actually exist. Outside Wikipedia, I could NOT find any serious hard evidence to prove that it did match your claims, only handful of different armature bloggers' descriptions, and even those did not even match each other. I also searched library in my college, and guess what? I could only find Type-63 and BM-21, NOT BM-12. Like i said, Type-63 can be easily carried by men on foot, because it was designed for guerrilla warfare, while Soviets designed their artillery systems mostly for 'brute force" operations. For Project 1.44/1.46, I believe that rkraptor70 already had your answer.

Lol indeed - looks like BM-12 is someone's fantasy. There is only the 140 mm RPU-14 which is based on BM-14. Also I found information that Chinese leaders ordered a reverse-engineering of the Soviet BM-14 some of which were bought even before Sino-Soviet border conflict, so i still think that the Type 63 is not pure chinese weapon. About project 1.44/1.46 - there are alot information about it including photos and videos, so i don't know what is rkraptor70's problem . And yeah, I forgot to mention that the J-20 has many elements from F-22 and F-35 too, like nose structure and frontal section, air intakes. There is no doubt that the J-20 is the another reverse-engineered weapon.
