This mod is for all the players frustrated with the cartoony nature of Zero Hour units and buildings. We intend to replace every fanciful unit in Zero Hour with its closest possible real world equivalent, without changing the unit's capabilities.

Well, I actually have a possible weapon package in my mind, although I'm still not sure which weapons will you guys choose.
Here it is:
fresh: small to medium sized MG like PKM/SG43/M60/FN MAG53/Type-67/Bren mk.5 etc
stage two: HMG like DshK, type-77, M2HB, NPV, or grenade launchers like mark.19, QLZ-87 and AS-19.
Stage three: different 105/106mm recoiless rifle etc.
All of these weapons are commercially available on black market, and they are usually cheap and plenty. Some of them like M2HB, Mk.19, QLZ-87 and type 77 are officially in service of US and Chinese military and they are not planning to retire them at least until 2020 (M2HB, QLZ87 etc.), so GLA can also acquire them by salvaging destroyed US/Chinese vehicle wrecks such as Humvee.
The GLA Technical upgrades follow this path in C&C Generals/Zero Hour:
Stage One: GPMG/LMG/HMG
Stage Two: Recoiless Rifle
Stage Three: Missile launcher

But they did put recoiless on technical in real life. Just google the recent Libya Civil War and you will find a lot of them.
What Missile will they use? It might good for them to have TOW/HJ-8/9K11 since they can either purchase these missiles in black market or salvage them from Humvee/tank hunters/enemy scorpion tanks.
no stage two is a grenade launcher thats why it lobs the round (like the scorpion. haven't you ever noticed how the crusader and the paladin shoot straight and the technical stage two and the scorpion lob theirs,its because they have a small 10 in and a grenade launcher) stage three is the recoiless rifle

they won't retire the m2hb its been in service since 1943 and the ones from back then still run well and don't jam its one of the toughest guns in our military
I've always enjoyed the technical in C&C Generals and Zero Hour. It is a lightweight but fast transport that is capable of sustaining hit and run raids however it is light and isn't really capable of taking a hit.
Great model and texture. I'm looking forward to the various upgrades it will receive.
I really like Timgao929's idea of the HMG>Grenade Launcher>Recoilless Rifle evolution idea.
Also, are there any plans to have variants of the technical like in the vanilla game with the randomized skins and such?
Yes there are going to be three. We already have two replaced, the Hilux, and the Jeep Panzerfux.de UAZ 469. The third will probably be another pickup truck.

M151A1/A2 Jeep is my suggestion for the third vehicle.

You should Google the Toyota War, and find out. It can defeat tanks too! Never underestimated this truck, it could make tank into scraps with the right tactics.
You CANNOT kill a Hilux, unless you turn it into a boat and capsize it at the last minute lol.
Is this gonna be the only variant or you're still working on the other two variants?

@ Everyone the it's weapons going to be the flowing:
Default: DShK 1938/M2 Browning heavy machine gun.
Salvage 1: SPG-9/M40 recoilless rifle.
Salvage 2: 9M133 Kornet/BGM-71 TOW missile launcher.
The choice of guns will may vaty with doctorheredoctor and other team members preference but the type of weapon will remain the same.
No Grenade launcher as that means modifying the gameplay.

I don't know, why do you think its missing?
someone can shoot out of it, plus it makes for easy entrance into the vehicle, so probably for the same reasons that the U.S. don't have doors on some FAV Humvees
