With regular system crashes and over-driven equipment, a disaster must have been inevitable.Deep within the tunnels and carved corridors of the top secret research complex within the mesa itself, the catalyst was introduced.
When your only companion (indeed your best and only friend of this piddling existence) suffered from an untimely death, you couldn't help but feel lost and vulnerable. And when you stumbled into a series of strange and unnatural incidents, you soon realized that no one cared about YOUR life. No one would take the time to befriend you... to help you... to save you.
People were dieing.And your best friend was one of many victims.You were forced to survive alone.To live by any means necessary.And to do it your way.
Of course, it didn't help that you were born a cat.
Cat-Life is an original concept for Half-Life and the GoldSource engine.Players will experience the Black Mesa incident from the view of a stranded pet cat.
Using claws and teeth and the natural prowess of a cat, players will travel through the bowels of Black Mesa.Xenian beasts roam the corridors and laboratories and... surprise... cats are conveniently bite-sized for those in-between-meal munchies.

First, thank you to everyone that submitted names. We had a fairly nice list from which to choose. Names ranged from "Morris" to "Ivan the space Kitty".
Now the list has been narrowed to the final five.

3D Artists/Improvement - Mesh, skin, animate, and improve the 3D models. The cat model is already working and in-game thanks to bodyhun. However, help in making custom skins & models, or tweaking existing content is still welcome.
Mappers and Level Designers - Make a map or improve existing maps. The choice is yours.
Sound Developers - Mix and record custom sound effects.
Music Composers - Mix and write custom musical scores for the game.
Voice Actors - Certain key characters need spoken dialogue... can you act?

nice mod. my friend is a mapper in the team and it is very difficult to create such a mod.but it will be the coolest mod in the hisory

The team is still working on the mod, so we aren't ready for a release yet. But when using a Half-Life mod with steam, you follow the same method you would have used pre-steam.
There will be a file avaialbe for download... a zip or rar file. You would download that and then copy the contents into your Half-Life directory. That's usually something like "c:\ Program Files\ Valve\ Steam\ SteamApps\ yourusername\ half-life".
Bare in mind, this is a GoldSource engine game for the original Half-Life and not Half-Life: Source.
lol playing as a cat in Half life got to try this when its released.

sounds good 2 me, but hey, just a question, before you release, give details on the story line, im guessing the cat is Gordon's or someones cat, ooh how about Barney? Since in half-life 2 they put the cat in the teleporter and Barney still feared what happened...(doesn't let you see, they just talk about it)but hell, ill play, and btw ne multiplayer planed?
The original premise was that the cat was owned by a scientist who brought it to work. The cat was actually the incarnation of Hitler, Jesus, and a bunch of other famous/infamous people in one. And "you have plans for world domination, but there's just one problem: you're a cat."
I can't remember much else, it was a long time ago.
Actually, that wasn't the original premise. The original premise was a scientist-cat hybrid created in Black Mesa. Then a cat who was the pet of a scientist. Then the less popular Hitler-Jesus cat. Then back to the pet of a scientist.
