Completely new story is situated into the modern european metropolis called Cantrell city.
Thomas Angelo lives an ordinary life like a regular citizen, who have never, except some parking or speeding fines, offended the law. He lives at the De Bruckére district and works as a dispatch driver at the local post office. He's got a girlfriend and sometimes he goes out for a beer with his friends after the work.
But one night, when he returns from a bar, he has become a witness of something, which nobody was allowed to see and his live has changed. In the darkness of backstreet, not far from his home, he encounters a few gangsters killing somebody and only by miracle, he escapes.
His ordinary life ends here and now begins the fight for life, in which Tommy losts the most important things he ever had. But Tommy is resolved not to give up...

For Christmas we have prepared 2 presents for you (view section "Downloads" on Esaul.finewaystudios.com ). It is high resolution poster (preview is below), which you can print out and pin up in your room. The other present is music from the main menu of the game that was composed by Tombouctou and can be found on their CD. The game will feature a shortened instrumental version.
However, I would like to talk about CC. You know a little bit about the story already, the full version of Cantrell city will include 5-7 missions, each car will have a first-person driver's view, and each weapon will have specific behaviors and characteristics. The main character is Thomas Angelo and his best friend is the brother of Tom' fiancée. Thomas is a courier/postman in Cantrell City (you can work in this profession in Free Roam). His life changes, when he sees a murder of a young man in a dark alleyway close to his home. He has no other choice but to run (you drive the first mission drunk!). The police does not believe him and rather chooses to arrest Tom for driving while intoxicated. Tom decides to run again and along with the brother (former soldier) of Tom's fiancée he is trying to solve everything and protect himself from the Mafia that is trying to kill him...
That's it for the story. Now, I would like to turn to you, our dear fans. I wish all of you a happy and merry Christmas, many successes and happiness in the next year. Hopefully we will play Cantrell city in the year of 2008.

Well, I forgot to say that this is pretty awesome! Looks and sounds much for fun the the previous GTA and recent free form shooters. Mafia is a 10 dollar game now, looks like I'll pick it up to play this mod. :)
Thanks NazGul ;) Yes, I think too, that LS3D engine could be still good, if modders can bring players some interesting missions and story and this is what we are trying to do.
First of all i'm glad to see this game is not forgotten.
Mafia was and still is a great game special in those days it was just released...i really enjoyed it.
So i was very surprised to see after all those years that there are still people out there modding this engine.
I played the other mods for this game but i must say...this mod looks awesome and i will follow this mod and i will make sure i will play this mod when it is fully finished.

I work on it for a 3 years. So don´t worry about it. City will has got new buildings, models, and details :) It´s something about 40% done, actually I finished music for background in city.
its still not old enough to look bad. I'm still surprised about how good Mafia looked at the time and this mod doesn't look bad either. Doesn't it take terribly long to change an entire city? How far done are you? I'm in a holiday right now, so I can't check the download.
Yea, I know, Mafia is old game, but is very easy to edit this game and I can edit 90% atributes of original Mafia. Build new missions, edit cars, weapons, edit city and countryside, edit music, sounds and many other things.
