Before someone moan about it: it's not possible for them to have flails. So I just took the idea from this drawing: Cardinal-danadriel.deviantart.com

If TWW can have Flagellants without flails, we can too with these suicidal ratties, haha.

I wanted to moan about this once, but I took a warpstone to the knee.

All seriousness though, as someone who has actually dabbled in 3D Modeling/Animation. Flails, Whips, and other such style weapons are hard to make visually work and make it look good.

It will be a full version, way to much has changed for a simple patch.

We've already talked about that in the team several times and nope, dismissed. Skaven gonna get enough goodies and they will have practically all their army list in, so it's not needed, we won't miss it.

It would be cool in theory, but pretty terrible to model, animate, and balance appropriately. Plus Skaven aren't lacking much without it.

No, lol, but the Stegadon that the Lizardmen have isn't easy to model at all either, but they did it! If I knew how to model, I'd be happy to aid them, but at the current moment, I respect that it's beyond their ability

I agree. I think instead of a hell pit abomination the skaven should get the Stormfiends as their ultimate late-game units. The triple ratling gun variant is probably my favorite, not because it is ridiculous but also cause it has all the dakka. The ultimate unit created by the master breeders of Clan moulder and equipped with the deadliest weapons of Clan Skyre. Not to mention that they have Bullet-proof armor.

Not planned at all.

Instead of asking / dreaming about wacky units the mod does not need, be happy with all the units the mod is gonna have. If you always think about the wacky eccentric unit the mod will always lack instead of being happy for the insane amount of stuff that gonna make the cut with such effort, you are never going to enjoy this mod and it'd be better for you to stop following our work, cause you're gonna always be unsatisfied asking irrationally for the next unit just for the sake of asking it. If for example some of you could understand all the effort those Ratlings have needed in the past you wouldn't be asking for those wacky useless units.

Anyway, as always: if someone wants so bad a Hell Pit Abomination, Stormfiends, Mutalith Vortex Beasts, Cockatrices, Dread Maws, Chaos Dwarfs' Choo-Choo Death Trains or some other wacky stuff, one can always put them in by himself. We are not going to, we already said turning the mod into a festival of crazy units it's not our goal.

Well, then you could say that the Steam tank and doomwheel is also wacky. I was just saying that they would be a better option/replacement than the Hell-pit abomination. I'm always happy and grateful for all the new stuff that you have added and balanced. Sometimes i can go a bit far and be annoying, i will try my best to be more relaxed and report bugs/balance issues instead.

Calling lore-friendly units useless is rude and by calling Warhammer normal or realistic is pretty much an overstatement. There are a lot of other units that are in the mod that can be considered wacky. Don't want to go into a debate with you, i'm just saying.

Stormfiends were never a regular Skaven unit, they're a special End Times-only creation. The idea of heavily armored four armed Rat-Ogres with Ratling Guns makes for a neat idea, but getting them to work would be a big pain in the ***. Plus, they don't really fill a role Skaven are needing filled, they're sort of all their best stuff mashed into one big beast.

@To9thecreeperorc Just checked that wishlist you posted in an old collage picture round here and I'm pretty sure you'll see soon more new stuff you like -and much more basic or needed than the Stormfiends- so you shouldn't miss the Ratminators.
It's not that we are against big fancy units per se, it's just that we don't want the mod to be focused on them, they're just an extra as they always were in Warhammer tabletop, so we are going to add only those that we consider they would really add something special to the gameplay of a concrete faction. So not choosing them for being just cool, but useful and iconic.

How will this work? Literally get hit-explode, or just do a ton of damage?

To be determined if I can get them using a quick gas projectile at extremely short range before charging into it. They'll work a lot like Flagellants, otherwise.

Description

Plague Censer Bearers are a unit in the Skaven army. They are the most deranged and fanatical members of Clan Pestilens and are given the honour of carrying a Plague Censer. The Censer is a staff with a hollowed ball on the end where nestles a plague-infected shard of warpstone which burns emitting a foul vapour, that enshrouds them as they fight.

They often advance in front of units of Plague Monks while reciting the Liturgicus Infecticus and, when they charge, the cloud of poisonous gas produced often proves as fatal for the enemy as it does for the Censer Bearers. Even as they die, they scream their thanks to the Horned Rat as their lungs fill with blood and pus, such is their devotion.
