Call of Pripyat: Redux is the premiere realism/difficulty modification for the latest game in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. Version 1.0 (released) brings numerous enhancements and tweaks to the game while retaining its original charm, but making the Zone a much more difficult place to survive. Version 2.0 (in development) will build upon the success of v1.0 and bring a huge range of improvements over its predecessor, including new missions, NPCs, script systems and even levels.

Very, very exciting feature. Question: at the end of the video, the magazine with 11 rounds was picked up from the ground, but then the inventory still only showed one magazine but increased from 41 to 52 rounds. Why not a separate 11-round magazine was added to the backpack? Are the magazines not maximized to 30 (or whatever number the gun allows) ?

Unfortunately due to engine limitations this is the only thing possible :(

It is, ive seen it work in SoC mod. They used item durability for it.

Also please add a secondary ("tactical") reload (as opposed to the "speed" reload in the video) where the animation takes more time, but immediately stores the magazine in the inventory. the T key would be exellent for this.

Reload system in SoC Zone of Alienation mod.
1. Attach the empty magazine or magazine need reloaded into the belt (place for artifact)
2. Press 5 to hold the magazine and R to slip bullet into magazine :D.

I hope u can made it, It's ******* awesome.
Sry for bad english.

Here the tutorial from ZoA
Magazines - to load/unload a magazine, equip it to your belt, close the inventory, then press the key for your binoculars (generally '5'). Press 'r' to begin loading rounds, or right click to completely empty the magazine. When unloading switch to a different weapon when you hear the sound of bullets striking the ground, unless you want to begin reloading immediately.

Hope it will help you to get some ideal

That's awesome! I can imagine looking for dropped magazines after a heavier firefight could be a bit tedious, but that's how it is in real life also, so I won't complain.

Awesome work!

We're working on getting a first person round-by-round animation implemented as an option :)

For real? woohoo :D

Good luck!

Evan if the anim never reaches here, just the feature is really good and more than enough.

*double thumbs up*

But where did the first magazine that was already in the gun go on that first reload? :P can you make a model of holding the gun just with no mag in it? Now THAT would be impressive and realistic.

I fired all but 11 rounds of the magazine, dropped the mag as I reloaded, then picked it back up, bringing me back up from 41 to 52 rounds :)

I'm pretty sure he meant the magazine that was in the gun before you loaded the one in the inventory.

The one on the weapon model.

Nice, will enemies need to do this as well? Like they will have to hide behind cover and do this as well, or at least increase the amount of time it takes them to load.

Unfortunately not, NPC behaviour is hardcoded :(

Pretty interesting. Can you load different kinds of ammo in a magazine? Like one tracer round every 5 ball, one AP every three ball etc.

Incredible is the word. But we should have an option to put the magazine in the bag while reloading rather than systematically droping it on the ground. Would this be possible by pressing the reload key longer? (and if yes, just make the reloading longer, obviously)

I really like the idea of a magazine based ammunition system. It reminds me of SWAT 4 where it worked perfectly. Here however I find it odd and counterproductive to drop the magazine when switching clips. A better solution (in my opinion) would be to put the (half) empty clip back into the inventory and switch to the next full(est) clip from the inventory. That way you would not loose those precious mags and the bullets within while keeping the system absolutely realistic. Other than that, keep up the good work.

Will it be possible to turn it on/off in the gameoptions? I think though the NPCs wont do that its kind of a disadvantage for the player.

The magazine system itself? No, I'm afraid not. There will be options to tweak it however.

It seems a bit silly that EVERY time you reload a magazine you throw it to the ground. If there's no rush I don't see why you wouldn't just place it back in your inventory when changing mags.

Perhaps you could have two reloading actions, a fast and a slow. Hitting R once could reload slowly and put the magazine back in your inventory while double tapping R reloads faster and tosses the mag, (or maybe holding R vs tapping it once, respectively)

Huzzah for realistic magazines!

Albeit I noticed that you're still charging the weapon while you have a round in the chamber, also the extra round in the chamber is not counted, I.E. 30+1. Is this a limitation of the X-Ray engine or something you have simply not added yet?

Remember true peace is the moment when everyone just stands around reloading or picking up mags and reloading them in this mod...

Congrats on MOTY top 100, looking forward to the next release. I really like the magazine system you've implemented, I wish it were a more common thing in open-world games. In regards to that, I suggest a system where tapping reload twice would retain the used/empty mag but it'd take slightly longer. Also, will/would/could this be made to be compatible with Gunslinger? I'd love to see those weapons included with the systems and gameplay of this mod.
