Call of Pripyat Complete is the third entry in the Complete mod series, which is a set of modifications created by professional artists dedicated to enhancing the production quality of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game series. The Complete mod series emphasize on improving the original graphics, sound, and atmosphere of each game while preserving the core game elements. Built upon the success of Stalker Complete 2009, which was downloaded by one in every five S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Very disappointing. Continual crashes and glitches "xr 1.6 engine has stopped working" constantly appears on my screen after installing this mod. Travelling between locations is a particularly annoying crash or after a small piece of video when all just freezes. Pointless sending any more reports as support is non existent. I have spent days trying small tweaks with setting on my PC which is well within recommended specs, in fact without the mod it played COP maxed out with only the occasional glitch (location moving again)from which it would recover from after a restart.

But here's the crunch; I love the gameplay, graphic and sound changes that this mod brings. The weapons feel, sound and texture is pleasing, in fact the whole game is is brilliantly overhauled which makes the unplayability of COP with this mod VERY frustrating.

Personally, I feel that it is the xrEngine at the heart of this masterpiece that is to blame. It's just not up to the job of handling the extra load.

SOMEONE please find a solution!

Like the previous Complete mods, this mod is in my opinion the best combination of modifications that don't alter the original game.

I used the latest version and didn't have any of the problems others reported, except the few XRAY engine crashes the STALKER games always have. I played through the whole game, finished all quests I ran across and collected about half of the possible achievements, so it was a pretty thorough playthrough.

One thing that was definitely missing is a FOV fix. There's a tool for that, but it's pretty hard to get nowadays, as most mirrors are down.

For your first play through of Stalker Call of Pripyat, this is the way to go. The graphic enhancements, minor and welcome gameplay tweaks, and bug fixes make this the way Stalker CoP is meant to be played.

I also recommend you check out the Misery mod after you have finished your first play of the game with the Complete mod.
