I can only take credit for the NPC ranks.
Alundaio did all the work on the leaderboard. :)

This is very good. :)
Surely no-one ever really cared about the "most powerful mutant" thing there anyway.

Awesome but there's a typo: Helicopters "killed". It should be helicopters "destroyed"

I disagree; once that helicopter goes down, you have officially killed it good. "Destroyed" sounds very mechanical, and if you've had any experience with helicopters in CoC you can surely appreciate how personal the experience of downing one becomes.

So, what about "Helicopters downed"?

I see you have different character portrait in the upper left corner of the screen.
I was wondering about feature where you can add your custom portraits. But how could that work? Is there any way that game can let you choose image (.bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png etc.) through the game, or does it need some workaround (like separate apps)?

In 1.4 you can select the portrait you want for your character from a list.

To create custom portraits like we have for many characters, you can add the picture to ui_actor_portrets.dds and a texture description in ui_actor_portrets.xml.

After that, just put it in the portrait list in ui_mm_faction_select.script.
There's a lot to choose from already (ignoring ones for unique NPCs): I.imgur.com

Nice, i missed this feature from SoC :) In a huge, dynamic CoC it will suit perfectly.
But a few questions.
How rank affects NPC? Masters are harder to kill or something?
NPC are able to increase their rank and advance? Or ranking is changing simply through natural selection in the zone?

Agreed. The statistics screen was an interesting feature, and it's definitely an appropriate addition to the even less linear gameplay of CoC. It emphasized that stalkers were individual entities despite their otherwise obvious lack of personalities and showed the player that until the late game they were only one person in a larger world.

I'm seconding your questions. I don't think ranks and scores affected combat efficiency of NPCs in Shadow of Chernobyl, and as far as I remember the list did not change except whenever stalkers died, and even then they just kept their place on the list. It would be really cool to see a maybe slightly more polished list which actually functions somewhat dynamically. While playing CoC as a soldier at some point I witnessed an army captain taking out most of the bandit base in the Dark Valley single-handedly. It would be really cool if things like that could actually make NPCs rise on the list.

Well, portraits are already matched up with the visual model of each stalker (which is tied to immunities and such) so I wrote a program for 1.4 which gave each profile a rank value based on which portrait it was using.

So if a stalker has an exoskeleton portrait, it's because he's using one in-game and as such has high immunities and will be given a high rank to match, etc. etc.

There's a little bit of randomness so that no two profiles share the same value or have perfectly rounded ranks.

My source code a bit messy and could probably be written better, but here's how it works if this is a bad explanation like my earlier post I deleted was: Pastebin.com

Some things can change the rank of NPCs such as killing other stalkers, trading or looting items and so on, so they will slowly go up and down the leaderboard or get knocked off entirely if they die.

Changes will no-doubt be made from here until release, but the idea is to improve upon the SoC leaderboard and rank/rep system. There has also been a massive overhaul to the latter since it was first introduced in patch 1.3.20.

That's really cool! Along with the reputation system, and along with the upcoming features in 1.4 it might help bring back a bit more of the atmosphere from Shadow of Chernobyl. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how it's gonna work out in the game :)

Yes, NPC can increase rank by killing, by picking up artefacts, trading with traders and helping wounded. Some of these stats are tracked in a hint window when you hover over their name in the list.

However, this is only valid to stalkers that are 'online'. There will be no offline 'random' calculations. This means all stats you see are real and happened in your game on your active level.

This also means if you have companions you will be able to see them move up the list, too.

Nice.

Are those changes provides some info portions that can also be used elsewhere ?

Things that I found missing, or maybe I don't know how to do it, is how to control NPC loadout, based on info portions or similar condition.

I got some ideas for changes that would allow more controled game progress trough S_T spawns, trader inventory and NPC loadouts without any story line. Unfortunately, real life issues prevented me to develop such things, since last year. Hopefully, I will be able to do something after 1.4 is released.

Send me a PM if you are interested to know more about whole idea, I don't want to bloat comment section with it.

I'm wondering if somebody could make an addon that makes the statistics look like the one in STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl, it had the names of the certain mutants you killed I thought that was pretty cool.

1.4 will require the entire mod to be re-downloaded on release, it's closer to a complete overhaul or an expansion pack than just a patch.

Two new ranks were added in 1.4, pushing up the requirements for the higher ones.
Legend requires almost twice as many points to reach it now.
