Call of Chernobyl is a free-play sandbox mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. : Call of Pripyat created by TeamEPIC. Removes negative effects from artifacts and balances them accordingly. IMO this balances artifacts for use with degradation. 100% compatible with any other mod as long as it doesn't change the artifact files. Compatible with version 1.4.22.
Simple mod that removes all radiation gain (for some, it was other negatives) from artifacts. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to use the Artifact Degradation option, otherwise it could be slightly OP. Buffs carry weight artifacts (15, 25, and 50 kg. This COULD be considered OP, but from a lore perspective, these are basically magic rocks so they don't really have a limit to what they can do and I personally felt the carry weight increases before were WAY too small to be of any practical use. Now you can use just 1, or carry it with you and slot it in when you need it and still have good carry weight, or more than 1 if you basically want super strength, but you will miss out on using other artifacts. They have FAAAR more utility this way IMO.) and the unique artifacts Compass and Heart of the Oasis, to better represent their incredible value compared to regular artifacts. Nothing completely OP, but you will definitely want to seek them out. Have fun!!
BUG UPDATE: Currently, Artifact Degradation is bugged in CoC. Your artifact degradation will reset to 100% whenever the game loads a new area, or you load a save. So basically, this makes this mod not quite as balanced as it could be. I really hope the Dev team can work this issue out because it is well beyond what I can fix. However, this mod is still fun to use and allows for more mix & match playstyle with artifacts without REQUIRING you to have a radiation reducing artifact, but it can definitely be a bit overpowered. I tried to see if I could balance the bug by increasing the degradation rate for artifacts, but sadly that just doesn't really work unless I were to increase the rate to a point where artifacts would stop working after about 10 minutes, which really just isn't fun. Like I said, I really hope the Dev's can squash that degradation load bug so these changes can REALLY shine:)
Also, if you find any artifacts that I may have missed in removing the negative properties of, or if you find any lesser value artifacts that are more powerful than more valuable artifacts that cover the same bonus, PLEASE let me know so I can correct it.
SIDENOTE: I recommend pairing this together with the Deadly Anomalies mod to give you a true risk/reward artifact system.
UPDATE: Nerfed Compass because it was incredibly OP. Not what I intended. Now it is fixed. Still powerful, but not game breaking anymore. Surprised nobody said anything...
