There wasn't any epidemic in the Bunker 66, the virus wasn’t turning people into zombies, there wasn’t any supernatural forces.
Mold.
The mold has destroyed nearly half of the Bunker 66 crew’s food supply. People almost went crazy, terrified by the prospect of starvation. Stocks of food ended up rotting or being eaten. Time passed, the food finished, the only thing remaining was water. But the mold! People realized that it was edible, it could save them! It was able to be eaten and very nutritious. For a short period of time was the sole source of nourishment of the crew. What was the catch? Mold has hallucinogenic properties, and strong anesthetics. People no longer paid attention to their wounds and slowly lost their senses, visions and headaches nagged them. But they could not stop eating it, still it was the only food.

There have been instances of suicide, such as individual and collective. The crew shelter for refugees and research complex called Bunker 66 in two years (1943-1945) dwindled from a one thousand five hundred to seven hundred people. Approaching the end of the war, messages requesting assistance were coming in from Bunker 66. The military even sent a group of soldiers, to see what was there.

The year is 1945, winter, January 13. Control Squad was killed and eaten by the inhabitants of the Bunker 66. The mold over the years was doing things on its own. Orders has been given. The only way out has been concreted. All the documents that can steer anyone to this place has been destroyed. Before this was made, Soviet prisoners, deserters, and Jews were sent there. A thousand lives. They gave them only a modest lunch. Then exit concreting works began. When they was out of food, the ones who survived battles with the previous crew also discovered a mysterious mould ... The year 1948 comes round, the war ended long time ago, the hearing about Bunker 66 was lost as it was intended.

But the mold would not die. The feral were still alive, fighting each other for food. Mold anestathized, before anyone who is saved from death or madness realized what they made, it was already too late. Mold inquired into the human, freeloaded on them, and united with their bodies. Among the inhabitants of the Bunker 66 units began to appear stronger, bigger, and more cruel than anyone could imagine. Who it didn’t kill, strengthened. The price was a free will, which, together with the progress of infection was losing. The Bunker 66 became a network of tunnels and rooms full of creatures, not a bit resembling humans.

July 1951, Poland, the Sudetenland region.
As a young geologist you examined the surrounding caves and rocks with a few friends. When you examined a cave one of geologists dug up an old mine. The explosion killed him and his partner, but you fell into the hole it made, passing out. You woke up among the concrete walls and wooden crates. You Didn’t know where you were, didn’t know what was happening. Everything becomes clear when you landed up in store supervisor’s office. You read the notes of the last few years and then understood that you can expect here only death. There was no mention of concreted main gate so it didn’t abandon hope of getting out of here. You studied the map of the complex, grabbed a knife and Luger. Well, you started. Next is just worse.
