Dark Ages in British Isles are fascinating, a dismal warlike time, in which people fight for survive. A dark age with deep blend of cultures. 6th and 7th centuries were a time when invaders (Saxons, Angles and Jutes) tried hard their destiny in a new world with the steel of their swords, shields and spears. Ancient people tried to resist, while they saw how their kingdoms are defeated and conquest by those “barbarians”, sorrowfully saw how his belowed world slowly disappeared off the face of the earth. Couldn't forget to talk about the Picts also, who have always inspire great interest. Or about West, other island, as complex as Britain, Ireland in which many people were fighting for a piece land, their clans, livestock and supremacy. In short, it is a world we know a little, but that it is like a magnet for history lovers: a time of war and great deeds, where few (almost none) kings died in his bed.

A problem i had which I will post to stop anyone els having it. If you don't have the steam version and you do have windows 7 then it may not work once first trying to install because it is installing to program files, not program files(x86). This is obviously mendable by ignoring the newly created warband folder in program files and changed the location to program files(x86) warband folder/moduels.

im having trouble installing the mod. i can install it and get the brytenwalda folder but no matter where i put it it makes no difference. i installed it into the "mount and blade warband" folder and got nothing, when i open warband the only option is native. the only thing i can think of is that this warband folder seems pretty small and im wondering if its not actually the right folder. any help? much obliged.

Guys I have a problem here, I have windows 8, and whenever I try to run the program it doesn't open, I did the compatablity test and it said it's incompatible, is there a way to fix this, or maybe a download link just with the module folder or something? Thanks

None of the downloads work for me. It says that the installation is complete but it never shows up in the module folder. Could this be because the upgraded versions need to have the original file? (being the first full version)and it just adds the new features to the old or what? Help would be most appreciated.

Thanks! *Rob*

The system works differently in Brytenwalda:The size of your army determines how many prisoners you can keep. I've only ever sold mine to ransom brokers (just started a couple days ago) but I know you can hold them in your lair and likely when you take a town/castle will be able to hold them there until you want to sell them.

Guys! I've found a way to fix the problem you guys probably have! Alright, all thanks to Joshua_Foster. You have to go in your program files, not Program Files x(86). Then you go to your M&B Warband folder in Program Files. There, you will see modules and go into that folder. Then you will see Bytenwalda! :D Alright, now go back to Program Files x(86) but keep Program Files open! Go to your M&B Warband folder in Program Files x(86). Go to Modules and then go back to Profiles Files. In that folder, drag Brytenwalda to modules in Program Files x(86) Hope it works out for you guys! Reply to me if you need help. ^_^

Hi, I'm having a problem with installing this mod, I'm running on Windows 7 32bit or 64bit, and whenever I run it, it allows me to click the Install Mod, and I select where it is installed fine, but as soon as it reaches music for Lords Hall Kingdom of Rhodoks, it doesn't work and says
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mount&Blade Warband \Modules\ Brytenwalda\ Music\ lords_hall_rhodok.ogg
An error occured while trying to copy a file:
The source file is corrupted.

Now I have a non-steam version but I have no crack and it is updated to 1.153 and has one other mod in it (A clash of kings) But I am confused as to why it refuses to let me install it.

I'm running the latest version (1.40) with Warband 1.153 and it was great for a bit. Suddenly, all of the descriptions of villages/castles/etc. have gone weird. Instead of the explanatory text about the village (normally ending with: your religion is hated here, etc.) I get really weird information that was clearly not meant to be seen. For example, the description of the village of Ard Macha:

"near Ego
no relation
Fortriu"

moments later, upon returning to the same village it had changed to:

"near Rhaeadre Gwy
no relation
Gwynedd"

At another time it seemed to contain a snippet of dialogue from an Arl saying that he was waiting for troops.

I've tried starting a new game and it still gives me this weird buggy text. Rarely I will get a semi-normal description when entering a town but it's usually this stuff.

I played in Native and other modules and everything is fine there, descriptions aren't bugged. Anyone have an idea what is going on here or experience it before? It's strange that it was working fine previously. Much thanks in advance.
