I think a side by side comparison will be very helpfull.
it's not really a side by side comparison but if you look at the blood you can definitely tell a difference between the old blood textures and mine

Absolutely beautiful
It sucks scaling up sprites, they get blurry. I did this a long time ago with HL1, is there any way you could make larger sprites so they don't get so blurred? It could also use some small chunks of pure meat in there. :D
