BrewLAN is a unitpack and balance mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance with a variety of changes and additions at all tech levels for all factions, including Seraphim. The design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximize technical compatibility with other mods, even if said mods may be incompatible in concept.

The name BrewLAN is taken from Joshua Wilsons infamous LAN party of the same name, where the mod in its earliest incarnation saw its first multiplayer usage. The LAN itself taking its name from the fact that lots of tea was served there.

There are two different ways to download and play BrewLAN, either via the public betas or via the SVN oriented alphas, which contain the very latest, but possibly unfinished or experimental, changes and additions. Multilingual support

BrewLAN, as of version 0.4.3, has full language support for English and French, with previously full language support for German (now out of date). German localisation by 106.Bluebird, French localisation by Explo.

If you would like to see BrewLAN translated into your language you can help! All it takes is translating this one document and uploading it somewhere for me to access. Benefits include your name on the credits and of course this mod being available in your language.

Who would have thought that after 5 long years ago an unassuming mod that started off as a way to make tech 1 only battles balanced, that took its name from a small private LAN party that also happened at around the same time, would still be alive and releasing! (I use the term releasing loosely as in those 5 years there have so far been only 6 public releases.) But yes! Today marks the 5 year anniversary that the first entry in the BrewLAN change log was dated. (I say dated not created, because the second entry starts with the words Created Changelog.)

Added the Pidgeon, UEF Tech 1 Light Gunship to the game.

It even comes with the adorable misspelling of 'Pigeon'. (*Shakes fist at sky* CURSE YOU PIDGEY!!!) At 5 years old the changelog is now 1311 lines long; 193 of which have been added since the last public release version 0.4.4 beta. To commemorate this event, I give you the video that someone linked to me last night that made me check how old the mod was for the sake of replying to said link, without which this Birthday message would have never happened. Incidentally the 5 year anniversary of the BrewLAN ModDB page, and the first ever public download release of BrewLAN, is coming up on 13th October. I will commemorate the occasion with an all new public release! The long awaited BrewLAN version 0.5 beta.

Go into the mod_info.lua with notepad and delete lines 12 - 15 (the parts about requiring icon support) and save. The mod will still run correctly without it.

Forged Alliance only. It works fine with Total Mayhem; there is even a compatibility script to make the Doomsday to be built by my Gantry. Should work with Experimental Wars.

Your T3 Seraphim gunship seems to have the same attack as T2 gunship.
BO:U one in that matter looks more..potent to me.Interesting how there were none gunship and now there are now two. xd
So, no autonomous engineering stations planned for Aeon?
Also can the rest of T1 shields be upgradable to T2 ones? The Seraphim,Cybran ones are really awesome.The Seraphim engineering station is fantastic.It can even build itself without need of builder when fully upgraded.

I might at some point make a merger mod for dealing with all the similar units, but then I would have to try and balance merging their teleporting Aeon transport with my mammoth hueg Aeon transport, amongst other things.

I do have plans for something to fill the role of the Aeon Engineering Station.

The UEF and Aeon T1 shields have smaller footprints, so they can't be upgraded into the bigger T2 shields. They can however be upgraded into naval shields if built on water.

Never thought I'd here someone say the Iron Curtain was OP, if I'm honest. I've always found it massively underwhelming, and a missile magnet. But I'll look into it.
