BrewLAN is a mod for Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance that has been in on and off development by a team of one for almost a decade. It adds a wide variety of new units for all factions, as well as offering several new game modes and features. The core design goals for the mod are simple; to add new, interesting, and visually aesthetic units which complement those already in existence and to maximise technical compatibility with other mods.

Translating BrewLAN is a simple but growingly large task. To that end I have now merged all translation documents and all languages into a single spreadsheet: Docs.google.com

BrewLAN is currently available, to varying extents, in French, German, Russian, and English, although American English as opposed to real English for consistency with the rest of the game. The Steam version of Forged Alliance is also available in Italian, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Czech, and Polish, and BrewLAN could easily, from a technical view, be extended to support those languages. However, as I only really know English I can't be the one to personally do that, unless you want it done with Google translate, which will more than likely end up barely intelligible, and not consistent with the tone and naming conventions of the rest of the game.

To that end, anyone who wants to contribute with corrections, issues, additions, typos, changes, requests, or anything else like that related to localisation can post them below, or alternatively request access to edit the spreadsheet directly.

Spreadsheet details

The spreadsheet itself is split up into multiple pages for each mod and sub-mod with translatable components. The first cell represents the final directory of that translation documents, and the rest of the first row represents both the language code of that column and the final subfolder that languages document will be nested within.

The first column represents the string key being defined, and the other columns are the translations of those keys in the language represented by the header row.

Rows and cells that start with double dash (--) are comments, and not read by the game. These are automatically filtered to blue.

Places where I have changed the English string, and as a result probably no longer matches the other languages have the affected cells highlighted in red. However this highlighting only began following the transition from separate documents to the unified spreadsheet, so changes made prior to this aren't represented by this highlighting.

For those that missed it above, that spreadsheet link again is: Docs.google.com

EDIT: Whoops, ModDB forum ate half of what I wanted to post, sorry :(. Working on the .txt file containing all the fixes and additions to Russian localization atm, will give a dropbox link later.

EDIT MKII: Here it is: Dropbox.com. EDIT MKIII: .txt file updated to include Maelstrom Cannon tooltips.
