BombingRun for Unreal Tournament 3 - Projectpage: What is BombingRun? (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Bombing Run (abbreviated BR) is a team-based gametype in the Unreal Tournament first-person shooter series, introduced in Unreal Tournament 2003. It can best be described as Unreal-style American football where the goal of the game is to grab the ball, take it through enemy territory, and score in the opposition's goal. Players can pass the ball to other teammates by launching the ball to them. The ball carrier drops the ball when they are killed. Just like American football's scoring system, if the ball carrier manages to run through the goal or launch the ball into it, the ball carrier's team is awarded with 7 and 3 points respectively. However the major similarity in Bombing Run and American football is the fact that the players of each team wear an excessive amount of armour. The ball carrier regenerates 3 hit points per second until the traditional health limit...

Thats great, but UT3 is almost dead. No matter how much competitions they got.
For every great mod like CODA or Haunted there are like 1 or 2 servers with very little or no players.
It isn't dead at all. There are very few fully released mods or ones that support filtering and online play well, due to Unreal 3's internet hosting being not very good.
Remember for this contest though, if they win they have a chance at a licensed engine, and their game can hit stores.
Yeah, that's the best part of it. Sadly, all the other mods will fade into obscurity.
Depends. Many have a good following and will really start to get players once they hit a full on release. Some definitely won't make it over others, but that happens to ALL games modding communities.

The Haunted is a 3rd person mod, The Ball is a 1st person. It makes sense.

There has not been any winners announced yet. Only nominations/finalist so far. Also very happy about Sanctum's nominations :) We're all very excited. Sadly no mentions on "Best graphics in map" though :(
