By Athos Adds the bombing run game mode to Unreal Tournament. As the name suggests, a ball is introduced into this game mode. Your goal is to bring the ball into the base of the opposing team and score by either running with the ball or throwing it into their 'bomb-base'. Some major bug fixes are still required.

Some help setting up BombingRun in your map plus tips.

Posted by on - Basic Mapping/Technical

Open your actor browser and File > open package-> aBombingRun15 -> Open Package -> BR is now loaded into the actor browser.

Set up Gametype
To set BR as a default gametype in your map go right click on your grid-> levelproperties -> LevelInfo> DefaultGameType. Hit the "..." button and the Actor browser shows up. Go to Info>GameInfo>TournamentGameInfo>DeathMatchPlus>TeamGamePlus>aBombingRun and select it. Go back to your Level properties and hit the button "use" and " Class'aBombingRun15.aBombingRun' " will show up and BR has been set as default gametype for your map. So if you start your map up now (Joystick-Button) then the BR gametype will be active.

TeamGoals
To set up a Team Goal go to your ActorBrowser:
NavigationPoint > aBrTeamBase
Place it and go to the properties: aBrTeamBase: Team (set 0 for red and 1 for blue)

You can set up multiple goals for teams and it won't cause any problems.
You can't setup goals for 3 or more teams, BR has been coded for 2 teams only.
If you want to make a goal spinning around with an attach mover it won't succeed. The mesh will be rotating, but the spot where to score will not move and remain on the same spot. Don't try to make the whole room spin, because mover brushes suck, stutter, are inconsistent and player will often fall through the mover or can't pickup certain stuff (plus aside from the weird feeling of flying).

BallBase
Actor Browser:
NavigationPoint > aBrBallBase and place it.

Gameplay
For BR with SLV it is important that there is enough room for setups and prevent spam (esp. where the ball spawns). Also floating goals seems to be the most enjoyable choice of position. It should be as high as that a player on the ground can just reach to score and the goal should be free so players can score from every direction when they get boosted. An example of this is BR-Contact. Also take care of the amount of SLVs that are placed, too many/too few on a spot are not good and can create spam/lack of SLVs. As final note you should also give some attention to your visuals in your map (don't create boxmaps, we have too many of those already). Nice visuals + good gameplay = win.
