Legends of the 3rd Age (formerly: Blue Wizard Mod) adds two new playable factions, Lothlorien and Moria, to The Battle for Middle-earth(tm). These factions come with a fully functional AI. It also enhances the original factions with additions and changes the gameplay. The focus here is clearly on multiplayer. Units and structures are designed to fit in the original game's style.

I'm positive it will be a good faction. If I had to start a new faction now, it would be a different one though. Now that I've put a lot of work into it, I want to finish it too if that makes sense.

Description

It shouldn't be too much of a surprise for people who have played Elvenstar Mod before. Originally I wanted to showcase the castle & structures, but since most art is not yet done/finalized I won't do that just yet.

Honestly, I don't like revealing "Goblins" as a new faction now as I will take a break from modding for about a month now, because I'm moving rather far away from my home town and I will not have my computer available for the first few weeks probably. But I promised I would do a faction reveal a few weeks ago, and here goes.

This doesn't mean that the mod is going to die. I'm determined to submit a release featuring Goblins as a new faction (date yet unknown), and I want to continue developing this mod after that. But hopefully you can understand that relocating takes a lot of my time right now and I cannot say for sure when I will be able to get back to working on BWM.

About the actual faction: Goblins will be similar to BFME 2's Goblin faction, uniting all the neutral (yet somewhat evil) units among them. We'll also see the one or other "The Hobbit" character in this faction. You can see Bolg featured in this screen shot (made by MorguLord), who will be a hero for Goblins. It was difficult for me to make this decision, because eventually, Bolg and Azog will share a lot of similarities and I feared that I would make them too similar almost. Both are good fighters and both will have a combat boost ability, similar to Lurtz's and Ugluk's carnage ability. Also, Goblin swordsmen will be the main infantry for Goblins, and likely the fastest infantry next to the Wildmen of Isengard.
