AMERICAN CIVIL WAR MOD

DaggerClassStudio - Christopher Carlisle James from the UK have brought together a very creative and a talented group of individuals together into making a Men of War Civil War mod based on the American Civil war that spanned from April 12, 1861 – April 9, 1865. This mod will be single player; however there are talks going on of possibly having this go to multi-player once the mod is near completion.

This modification will provide a unique and a realistically accurate gaming experience as possible as you will lead the union and confederate forces in some of the most strategic and crucial battles of the Civil War. You will be given an arsenal of different units from both sides, different ranks, guns, artillery pieces and cavalry as we hope to make this game an exciting experience for you all.

1 comment by DaggerClassStudio on Jul 15th, 2012

Hello fellow gamers and modders!

We apologise for the long silence in this mods progress. To be honest there has not been any specific improvements since the January and February update because our key exporter slacked behind in getting the models ready for in-game. Also the drop box that we use has a corrupted file in that needs to be fix so I have not been able to access the resources to put them in-game to develop this mod further. So in general the resources that we have created need organising from the group email to the drop box. So we desperately ask our community if there are any exporters out there who can export the specific models to be compatible to be used in the game and gem editor to contact us and join our team.

Until this issue is resolved and we have a replacement exporter, we will be unable to continue because we need to double check exactly what has been created etc. For a while back last year we last time slacked behind as the same exporter did not have a copy of the files so we eventually lost a lot of work and had to have it re modelled. I do apologise for this inconvenience and silence as I understand that a lot of you are big fans of this mod and want to see it finished so to me that makes me feel over the moon in joy that I am making something that people from all over the world want to play. From those members that are still in the team they are a fantastic set of creative individuals and I hope for this mod to pick up again soon.

Thanks again all

I have an idea you could use for lines. you could make a flag a vehicle and a guy is in a line vehicle the the other spaces are for the guys walking and shooting :D . now if you used this idea and I hope you do I will say thanks.

I think he's talking about an invisible vehicle that soldiers would sit on, so they'd move in line.

Not exactly a practical solution

At this current time nothing will be changed with the squad system as we first need to make the models/skins/textures/music etc....... At a later date when the missions get put together, I will figure out what will be the best and most realistic way to put this game together :) but thank you for your comment

Question. The civil war was fought with mass amounts of troops firing in line. How is this mod going to work with the men of war engine? Did you completely get rid of the squad system?

I wish we could. There is a way we can do it, but if you select a squad, it will automatically spit into smaller squads.

We have lots of guns and models under production :D .. but in the future I see no reason why we cannot add that gun if suitable to what we are making :)
