Blue Portals: Post-Release News Article #4

As far as you may know, Blue Portals is now published and avalable on Desura. On the last article we hinted that we would not release the update unless Blue Portals gets published on Desura or if we have something to release with it. Well, after you sync your Blue Portals file with Desura it will update Blue Portals to 1.4!

Here is a Changelog included in 1.4

ADDED
-The Help system to Chambers 01 - 07. Press "H" on your keyboard to enable it if it's available.
-Two simple flings in Chamber 00
-In Chamber 07, a pannel near the force-field was added to help players understand they need to portal distance.

FIXED
-In Chamber 09, the last room's massive output screw up.

INCREASED
-Most timers to the nearest fith. (From 5 to 10, 3 to 5, etc unless more time was needed.)

LOWERED
-The exit ledges in Chamber 01 and Chamber 04.

NOTES:
-The Help System can not be rebound, if you would like to change it, you will need to edit the autoconfig.

The Help system is only available in chambers 01-04, 06, and 07, as in the other chambers (05, 08, 09 and 10) mostly go over stuff that was already covered and/or no helpful hints could be given as it was mostly obvious.

Fling challenges. (i,e, the player does not need to crouch jump any longer.

The random fences in the last room of Chamber 05.

(Big Note to Advanced Portal Players: We recommend you back-up Chambers 00-05 if you don't want the game to be 'ruined' for you. In 1.4, we did a lot of changes so more people can complete it. It's just an available option.)

We will be removing the download links in the next week or so. We thought it would be nice to let you know ahead of time since Desura is pretty new and not much people use it.

Wait, we said 1.5, and this is 1.4? What the heck? Well the 0.1 part of the update was the new the content I was working on. Of course, the bonus content could not get done in time but we can show off a few things we have been working on since we released Blue Portals in November. Unfortunately, Winston and Colossal could not get the time to show UP, but instead I'll show a bit of something I've been working on.

Blue Portals - Extended Play is is a small mappack for Blue Portals showing off various machanics old and new, using the fully operational Portalgun. Players will be tested on their knowlage of Portals and the Blue Portals elements. Thats right folks, no insane flings this time. Its titled as an extended play due to the fact that Victoria's story or a separate story will not be present, however it will hint more about the development center and its past.
