Bloodstone - Release Version 1.0.1.1317
Jun 04, 2008 Full Version 16 commentsThis is the Gold Master version of "Bloodstone - The Journey Home". Eventhough this mod is meant for Episode 1, you can play it without owning Episode...
Bloodstone: The Journey Home is a third person role-playing total conversion of Valve’s Half Life 2 - Episode One, using the Source engine. In this modification, Khrinz, a common farm boy is plunged into an unknown world of magic and deceit, on the brink of an unstoppable invasion by a technologically advanced race.
The player must lead our hero through the mysterious land of Darynia in search of the fabled bloodstone, a powerful gem that has the ability to create portals to other planes of existence, whilst also discovering their innate magical powers, so that they may defend themselves from the sinister and evil creatures of the world.
This power can either be used to fuel mystical and powerful spells of the arcane, or infuse deadly weapons with the force of the elements. As the player grows in experience, more potent spells and abilities are unlocked, to use against the ever increasing number of enemies.
Darynia is a fully realized fantasy world where the player will become immersed in an enriching storyline, driving the player’s actions, and pushing their emotions to the limit.
“It’s not the blood that courses through your veins that defines what type of person you are; it’s the decisions you make, on the journey of life.”
- Nienna, Princess of the Graymir Elves.

Hello again,
Firstly we would like to apologize for the delay of the updates that we promised. This is due to an extremely high work-load at the moment and other university assignments that are due in around now. Unfortunately this means the updates have to take a back seat at the moment.
We will be working hard on getting more updates up in the coming weeks. Including a large update containing some more of the monsters you will be encountering in Bloodstone - The Journey Home.
In the meantime, here is the wolf model to keep you guys interested. I think it shows off the stylized and colourful aesthetic we are attempting with the creatures in the game.
Thanks for your understanding and keep checking back, there is more coming soon.

i own epp 1 but i dont wanna install it just to play the mod
i have half life 1 original and hl2 DM installed and tthe SDK base is that sufficent to play
cuz epp 1 is 2GB big man dats alotta space
I did extract and download to my folder- still not working.
Do you have Half-Life Episode 1 (and perhaps this need also Source SDK Base)? If you don't have Episode 1, I'm not sure if it would show up.
I think you can just download Source SDK base to play it...
According to the ReadMe.txt file, this mod requires Half-Life 2 EPISODE ONE. If it hasn't already been, this should be stated somewhere noticeable. People who don't own Episode 1 would really be mad to find out they downloaded a 703 MB file, while not being able to play.
Has anyone who doesn't have Ep. 1 tried yet? Because I can't imagine that being the case, as mods run off the "Source SDK Base," which should have automatically updated to Episode 1 for everyone, even those who don't own it.
If you don't own Episode One the game doesn't show up in the steam list after you've restarted steam.
Hopefully people without Episode One can play this too..
I tried to play it. Had to launch it with Crosus, and it worked initially, but without any people or things to do... That really disappoints me.
Well thanks for the heads-up, I won't be trying this mod then.
I own every Half-Life 2 game apart from "Episode one".
Surely this is a joke, I waited too long to download this mod to just delete it.
Thanks anyway....
