Bloodstone: The Journey Home is a third person role-playing total conversion of Valve’s Half Life 2 - Episode One, using the Source engine. In this modification, Khrinz, a common farm boy is plunged into an unknown world of magic and deceit, on the brink of an unstoppable invasion by a technologically advanced race.
The player must lead our hero through the mysterious land of Darynia in search of the fabled bloodstone, a powerful gem that has the ability to create portals to other planes of existence, whilst also discovering their innate magical powers, so that they may defend themselves from the sinister and evil creatures of the world.
This power can either be used to fuel mystical and powerful spells of the arcane, or infuse deadly weapons with the force of the elements. As the player grows in experience, more potent spells and abilities are unlocked, to use against the ever increasing number of enemies.
Darynia is a fully realized fantasy world where the player will become immersed in an enriching storyline, driving the player’s actions, and pushing their emotions to the limit.

the time has come, "Bloodstone - The Journey Home" is now available for download:
I'm not going to talk much about whats going on in the game. Just go ahead, play it and tell us what you think about it.
Anyone who wants to see us in action, can visit us this Saturday, 7th of June, at the Cube Gallery in Manchester.
Eventhough this mod is meant for Episode 1, you can play it without owning Episode 1. Please check our Tutorial on how to do that.

any servers up>?
for some reason after installing I cant seem to find any .exe files to start. I installed ot the sourcemod folder but there is no .exe file at all. any ideas?
you got to steam and load it from there, you have to restart steam once before it shows up though, you do this with all mods.
btw the name of the application that crashed is materialsystem.dll
Wow i found a mayor bug, since hl2.exe crashes when i do the quest "Corrupt guard" with the graveyard thingy, i set the game to lowest graphic ( In advanced options ), but when i go to the graveyard, my dude stands upright with no weapons, no crosshairs, with his arms out, so that he looks like a cross! and also, suddenly the camera scrolls away from my character, and out of the map :P AND after the dialog is finished ( With both low and high graphics ) the game crashes...
We have tested every quest and didn't encounter this problem. That quest includes a scripted sequence, which would be playing in that moment. It is not likely to be a problem of the mod but a problem of a combination of possibly other modifications to the source-engine or your pc, unfortunately we could not predict the millions of configurations of PCs, which produce most of the bugs described here, the mod ran more or less stable on 10 different systems when we released it,
Having tried to play this game quite a bit, I have to say that it has a lot of potential. It looks great, the fighting system is fun, the items are cool and well modeled, the leveling system is fun, and the story and voice acting are pretty good.
Unfortunately, the good is kneecapped by the bad. This is the buggiest mod I have ever played for any game, and when it crashes it will require a hard reboot in order to get out of it. Worse, it tends to wipe out my save game when it crashes during a load screen so I have had to restart several times, and that just makes the intro areas really painful. I can't even bypass this by making my own save games because the mod bugs out when you do that too. I'll keep this on my watchlist in case it ever gets polished up, but currently I find it unplayable.
You guys better dont quit this game! xD
A-LOT of good mods have died this way, and im starting to get sick of it.
The best games so far that havent quit is this one and Master Sword Continued for HL2 ( Still under development ).

i have the orange box and im trying to play this game but the screen goes black then shows the my games section in steam as if its on very low resolution
lol register hl2 ep1 with steam?
