Hello fellow Blitzkriegers

As many of you may be aware there are registration issues on the BK forum.

And since work has begun on Blitzkrieg Mod for Company of Heroes 2, we made a new forum.

I say to you all sign up there in order to keep the latest updates and news from us.

We will keep supporting CoH 1 as well but no more regular updates as our main focus will be CoH 2.

I'm having a problem with blitzkrieg mod since version 1.603 beta update i think it was named. I played that version for months and suddenly one day when I started a single player skirmish game , at the start of the map/skirmish it says " fatal AI error " or something like that.I'm using Tov 2.500 and can't pathc to higher vers.but that was never an issue before( as i sayd I played it for months until one day" .And the later versions all have the same error, I'm covinced it's not my 2.500 version that's causing it because it would not start the mod if that was the issue , so what do I do to fix it (I love this mod)

But I'm telling you even if it says you need to have patched higher than 2.500 the 1.603 update worked just fine for MONTHS until one day( I might have deleted some file by mistake or so)because that same update had some instruction with it that said to add after instalation some "normale texturen.zip" file which contained a folder with some files that had to replace some that were already installed .I think that may have something to do with the problem.By the way I've played tons of mods that required higher patched versions without any problems so I don't think that the version is the issue .

The tanks fire regular AP shells as standard. The AP shells you pay for are special ammunition with even better penetration values, but they haven't been the main ammo supply for most of the tanks in WW2 (especially not for german ones).

Shadow i think you miss understand what HE is HE is used in many forms AA guns ect but you after to remember an early form of HE was used during WW1 and before that from Arty HE is High Explosive it is as you said an area of affect thats why is was first used in arty HE is used in Torpedos Arty shells mortars and even grenades HE is just that High Explosives also AP was the main stay for many german weapons.

88mm spanish civil war used HE opening days of poland and france the germans found out the 88mm was extremely effective in killing tanks which came around to the development of the 88mm AP ammo only thing with germany unlikes the british or the Russian where they used AT rifles and the british Piat which was HE most german hand held AT weaponery were shaped HE charges.

i think you should hit the history books Shadow

but still a great mod either way

Well this might be true for history (I'm an Historian myself), but we are talking about BK here, aren't we? And in BK the ammunition used as standard is a AP one from it's statistics, it does nearly no damage to infantry except with direct hits. The special AP ammo I was referring to was f.e. the Panzergranate 40 with Wolframkcarbid, but those had been expensive and haven't been the main tank ammo. That's why you have to pay extra for them in BK too. We can't be 100% realistic, it's a game after all. You have to keep that in mind before judgin my or our competence.

BTW: I have a whole bunch of german (and some allied) weapon manuals from WW2 copied from microfilm here, so we certainly don't lack sources. ;)

i wasnt judging your team in anyway it was points between AP and HE and not once did a reference the mod in a bad way i even said the mod was great so dont get offence of an opinion

you do have a point, shaped charges are HE, just that they got alot of space filled with other stuff for the jet, regular HE shells are just filled with TNT and such, and is not that effective against "soft targets" because they lack AoE. Shrapnel is what rapes infantry, so it would kinda make sense if you could buy shrapnel shells (not that I know if they used HE or shrapnel on the Shermans).

Best COH mod you will find, most realistic you will get in COH, with no new factions this mod pwns everything, imagine with new factions, but its alot of work, so dont get angry on the devs if they dont add any, which i dont think they will, but anyway, play it and you will never find yourself using the vCOH shortcut again ;)

IMO "realistic" damage system should be accompanied by at least somewhat realistic resource availability and NUMBERS, yes numbers. I mean, how the hell are you calling realistic several tigers (or some other of the kind) against few shermans anyway?
In other words - nazi-favouring (game-wise) mod, plus I, personally, find it to quickly become a bit boring. And if you really want realism - go play "Men of war", or any of the various mods for it, including nazi-biased (game-wise).
