This mod also works with Company of Heroes and/or Tales of Valor. Opposing Fronts is not required! There are many features that I added, for example: - a much more realistic Weapon damage system - many new skins for infantry and tanks (and wrecks) also including many of my own made tank skins - many new units for all factions - modified and enlarged Commander Trees (now 16 Upgrades!) - new abilities - new sounds - recommended new maps included

You obviously don't get it.

They won't place bushes around the tank, you have to move the tank to the bushes to camouflage.

And now we see the tank destroyer in it's natural habitat. Once chosen the bush serves as a breeding and hunting ground for the TD. While not the fastest or most protected hunter the TD has a 7.6 cm cannon and waits for the other armour to just barely pass by before firing. Since other armour is weak in the rear the TD is almost assured a decent enough meal to resume breeding. The jagdpanzer 4's pups are born about the size of a kubelwagen, but grow to be a sdkfz 222 in just 2 weeks. since they're small they feed off of infantry and other small vehicles. Join us next time for a Grille released from captivity, trying to find its way home!

Ha ha ha, this would have been fatal, here you go:

After 80 shot upon 80 bushes in the hedgrows......

"Sir, are you sure that that is the enemy and not just another bush?"
"For Christ sake just shoot it already!"
"Fire"BOOM
"****, just another bushes, I guess is just another goose chase."
"Head back to HQ for resupply"
"Hey, that bush over there is moving, sir?"
"Nah, we had shot all the bush already, is just the wind....."
(enemy)"Panzer Sherman at range 400metre"
(enemy)"Acthung! Load AP Compasite!"
"Hey that bushes appear to be sticking out a barrel? Sir....Sir?"
"I told you, just a bush, sticking out a barrel....!?!"
(enemy)"FIRE"
BOOM!!!!

(HQ)"We lost a Sherman!"

It's great that they add in all these new features and units and models but when are they gonna fix the gameplay. . .

They fix bugs and address gameplay issues in every single update. Just because they don't publicly announce bug/gameplay fixes before patches are released doesn't mean they don't happen.

...you will still be able to use the ambush ability with adequate object cover (f.e. from craters). Otherwise tankhunter would have too great disadvantages in late game.

Oh yes, I had to ask this to clarify, is it meant that bushes that previously not considered as cover can now be considered as cover for ambush, such as hedgerows?

Any possibility of preventing hedgerows from collapsed(destroyed) after a tank move into place?

Cause you know, hedgerows in real life allow a Stug IV or even Jagdpanther to actually hide underneath it and not simply crush it into pieces.

One more thing, if hiding underneath a tree or behind a small wall, will it considered as a cover for ambush purpose?

this is a pretty good idea but might be difficult to master properly as a crater or bush wont always be in the most opportune position for an ambush. what if the only crater around is in the middle of a street toward the middle of the map? your tank wont be very safe there and it will be much more easy for enemy infantry to rush it. id say the best bet is to have tank hunters and infantry go into the auto-ambush state while still having the ambush ability left open. you can ambush anywhere you like but it will take time to dig in/fix turret/gather bushes ext, while if you find environmental cover the ability triggers instantly. also id like some of the infantry in certain doctrines (ie commandos, paratrooper, fallschirmjäger) to have that timed ambush ability again as sometimes its hard to have them all use the already in-game "ambush" (the one where you get two shots out of cover) ability. where for instance i have a piat armed commando squad in cover ill have one or two soldiers in cover so i can use the ability but the other commandos will not go into the ambush state with him.

Umm, eveyone's looking at this from the German perspective… How will this affect the"cloaking" Allied TDs?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
QuakeRiley
QuakeRiley - - 1,853 comments

Might just end up being the same, although there is one real TD which can camo and that the M10. everyone tends to be looking at it from a German perspective because they own the majority of TDs which can camo.

US TDs work the same. They now autocloak/can trigger their camo only when near a suitable cover like bushes, trees, a crater etc.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
QuakeRiley
QuakeRiley - - 1,853 comments

A serious question now, will this affect camo time? I often didn't use the tank destroyers because they took a bit of time to enter camo so will the time be the same or different?

Also, does this affect AT guns? Unlike a machine gun AT guns are quite big.

It's not just bushes and craters, the only way to do this would be to make it apply to cover. Either just Heavy (Green) cover, or that and Light (Yellow) cover. Since most bushes are only light cover, if he wants the tanks to camo in bushes, it'd have to be Light cover too.

And there is no shortage of cover on a map, bushes, trees, walls, drainage ditches, fences, even a set of cafe tables & chairs would be enough (if Light cover works). Not to mention the tank would be able to go into ambush behind a single Sandbag section (same as when u want to hide a Goliath, but there's no cover on the bridge), so you can make some cover if there isn't any in that perfect spot.

@ Hptstrmfhr.

If there would be few levels of ambush : Light and High for example.
High ambush level (like very good spots for ambush) would give very low detection possibilities and low level - high detection possibility.
Then it would be great, but I think it's too difficult to include in game.
