Welcome to Amaluuk research station, we hope your stay is a productive and pleasant one.
So far, this mod has been a very fun ride. I just found it to be one of the most terrifying mods that I have ever played. It's a short mod, yeah, but atleast I don't have to face that ugly looking creature again. You know the one. It tried to rape me.
Anywho, I like this mod. I haven't taken the time to look up much more information other than just the media and the news, but I am looking forward to seeing an Episode Two. You guys really deserve it. I think that it would also be a good idea to put in a few easter-eggs that may refer to the storyline. For example, you might want your players to get the idea that they'll find this particular creature not to be the only one remaining or chasing after them. And for all the victims know... they'll be walking right into a cage with the devil inside.
This is a really scary game, and is very good at letting you get in the atmosphere, I honestly felt cold when I was playing. And not showing any clear monster makes it really freaky, just something lurking in the dark. I would really recommend this game
Cons-It is very hard to find out what to do sometimes unless you look at every square inch in the map, and sometimes it's too dark to see where you are going, that combined with the fact that there is clutter on the ground makes it hard to run away sometimes, and there could be a little more heaters. The only other problem I have is the ending, which is abrupt and unsatisfying, however you do good in making some loose ends, hopefully setting up a sequel. ("Don't leave" on the wall and the key in the block, and the "coincidence" of the lights turning off)
So overall, great, horrifying game that is fun to play, but could use some tweaks here and there and a sequel
Atmosphere was extremely tense. You felt vulnerable the entire time. The moments where you did get trapped in rooms with the smoke outside were in my opinion the scariest because you had to wait for the light to go back, but the smoke continued to try to get inside, but couldn't. The gameplay was spectacular, the level design was superb, and the fact that it was entirely done WITHOUT any sort of coding is incredible. Especially the custom inventory and objectives. The only complaint I have is the ending, which was ****, I'm sorry to say. I mean, come on. Really? You couldn't have at least tried to make it longer? Like, I don't know, actually finishing the vehicle? Maybe attempting to find another outpost, but getting stuck because of the black snow? Pleh.
TL;DR, the mod is excellent, worthy of a 9/10 for it's intense and helpless atmosphere, fantastic level design, and superb mod mechanics, just the ending leaves something to be desired for sure.
