First off, allow us to apologize for our prolonged absence - we've had much to contend with and it's been a very exciting (and sometimes turbulent) year for us.

However, we are happy to announce the launch of a devblog for our new game, BEACON, a sci-fi action roguelike coming to PC. We know this might not be your cup of tea as it is very different from Black Snow, but give us a chance to impress you. And if it happens to be right down your alley, then by all means follow us along the development of the game and chime in to give your feedback as we create the product together!

Follow the development of the game alongside us here at our devblog. If you are curious about who "we" are, check out our website.

I have to say, I really enjoyed this mod. The mapping was superb- I mean, really just incredible, such great atmosphere! The puzzles were fun, often challenging but not frustratingly so, save for maybe the x-rays. Really loved all the exploration and the amount of detail. The gameplay was extremely intense, I've never feared the dark nearly as much as I did in Black Snow, and I was on my toes the whole time! There wasn't a moment of this mod I didn't enjoy.

***Minor spoilers***

However, I did find the conclusion a bit disappointing. Even with it tying into a future project, I really wish we could've gotten more information about what exactly is going on, and a less abrupt conclusion. I didn't think it was the legitimate end of the mod until the credits actually scrolled down the screen, and frankly I found the whole adventure rather anticlimactic.

Nonetheless, I still thing it's a stunning feat of storytelling, gameplay, atmosphere, mapping, and just modding in general. Excellent work, looking forward to your future productions!

Yes, I do realize it's rather abrupt, unfortunately I was pressed for time with our other current project so I had to bring it to a conclusion, very sorry :(. Perhaps you will find better closure in what is coming next...

Actually, all the answers and closure you might need ARE in and OUTSIDE the mod, you'll just have to look for some specific stuff ;)

I shall look for such answers! However, is there any chance of a Black Snow v.II which will expand the mod and give it a new conclusion? I admire your dedication to getting the mod delivered, however I think that the modding community would be willing to wait years in order to get an ending that matches the excellence of the mod throughout.

And the winner of most abrupt ending goes to...

Nicely done, had a bit of a problem with the x-ray puzzle and ended up just deleting the door, but enjoyed figuring everything else out.

Black Snow NAILS atmosphere and makes you feel vulnerable and alone. As a part of a rescue team dispatched to a research complex in the middle of the tundra. You end up separated, chased and all but you remain. With dark hallways and the ominous presence of something unknown lurking in the shadows and no way to defend yourself, the true sense of making you feel afraid is done right. You must avoid a darkness out to kill you by using light, and solve many puzzles that will test your ability to think…

The mod started off well enough, you got tension and mystery. You had to explore well and it gave you a indication of what you can pick up. The annoyance starts with this arbitrary light switching that makes zero sense why it changes like that, and if your left in the dark you end up being chased around and stuck inside a room with that thing right outside, forcing you to reload without a chance. It moves really fast so you end up dying without a fighting chance as soon as you make a mistake. Then…
